Had a great stay in Adels grove with adequate facilities and super friendly hosts. The water was great to swim in and we were able to camp right next to it. Would highly recommend staying here despite some surprisingly negative reviews on here.
Extremely disappointed in Adels Grove. Honestly of i knew what was there I would have camped at Lawn hill. Paid $210 per night and when we arrived they said they had cancelled.our booking. But we did not receive an email at all. They said they found us somewhere to stay. Not .kidding the room is the dirtiest I've ever stayed at and we camp Alot. This was supposed to be our luxury anniversary week away. I so wish we had camped. The only reason I give it 2 stars is the bed was comfortable, and the air con worked (mostly). If your happy to pay resort fees for just above camping then this is the place for you. If your happy camping best thing to do is go to lawn hill and save yourself 170 bucks per night. They did not have the services they said on their website. No shop, no cafe, take away, no restaurant, no bar, not 1/2 the stuff in the kitchen they said. Also so lucky we brought all.our own food because if we had planned to eat in the restaurant we would have been very hungry for 4 days. Lawn hill.itself, stunning. GO THERE…
We arrived and the office wasn’t open, at a time when it should have been. Apparently they weren’t officially open till 4 days after our arrival, but they had accepted our booking. The grounds in no way resemble the website photos, dead grass, and no maintenance of the caravan sites. The toilet and shower block hadn’t been cleaned for a year. The bar was opened when they were ready, not according to any timeline, and closed without warning. If anyone goes in the next few weeks and finds it clean and organise, please post something to help them.
We camped in the grove for three nights in late Oct. When we first arrived we learned that Adele’s had just changed hands that week and most of the staff had left. The new managers were very accommodating to our needs. It was great to hear their vision for the future in updating the accommodation and giving the place a face lift. With that said the shower/toilet blocks were clean and we had hot water. We used the laundry facility as well with no complaints. I highly recommend travelling to Adele’s outside the normal high tourist season. We shared the large grove area with only a couple of campers during our stay and were often alone at the swimming hole. We had no problem driving to Lawn Hill. We lowered our tyre pressures from 40 to 28 and kept our average speed around 80. Of course, what is safe for us may not be safe for everyone but our ride into the grove was comfortable and there was not even a little vibrato in our singing car voice even though we tried hard to sound operatic. We left Adele’s and took the track through Lawn Hill toward Doomagee. We thoroughly enjoyed the drive but only recommend it if you have 4x4 experience and it is the dry season. We will be back Adele’s! …
The Grove and lawn hill are beautiful spots to see. However the road to get there has 70 Kms of corrugation so be prepared for that. We had two American Tourists with us. The units we had for accommodation had no hot water and the shower roses had not been cleaned for some time. The water is calcified so the shower rose was 90% blocked. The American had sand come through his shower rose. There is a fridge but no other in-room facilities (kettle etc). At $246 per night it is way overpriced. We complained when leaving however no discount was given. Reception did not seem interested in what we had to say. Very disappointing. We won't be back and certainly won't recommend it as a place to go unless you are camping.
