What a great place to stay. Facilities included clean toilet and shower block and a large covered bar area. Just what we needed after a big days drive to get there. This place is under new management and they were only too pleased to help us out even though we arrived and had not made a booking (best to make a booking if you can). We were prepared to sleep in the car but we're very happy to stay in a room instead (thanks very much).

The natural surroundings in this place make it sensational. At the campground we met Mackenzie in the office who has great customer service. For our boat ride cruise Carter looked after us and gave everyone some fishing lessons. This place is going through a transition of ownership but there are some fabulous people here working hard to make it comfortable for their guests.

Boodjamulla NP & Adels Grove The Boodjamulla National Park is the reason for our stay & it’s an absolutely magic spot. This trip we chose to stay in accommodation. Our booking was made in January for 3 nights cabin accommodation (no ensuite) with breakfast & dinner & a boat river cruise for arrival in May. We received no notification prior to arrival that tours were no longer available, so that was disappointing on arrival. Other travellers arriving at the same time were not happy about no tours & quickly changed their bookings to one night only. The first room we were given wasn’t prepared. We were then shown to ‘The Bungalow’ a comfortable cabin - bed good & room included a fridge, bed side table with air con & a ceiling fan. Lovely shady deck area & cabin screened. The Adels Grove area is dry & dusty - the water truck did laps when the bus tour groups were in, which didn’t make much difference. Things are definitely a bit hit & miss - no toilet paper in amenities block first day & after that well stocked. After 1st day rubbish bins around the site were overflowing. The staff are trying very hard & are all lovely & pleasant. It is a remote location & they certainly have lots of challenges to make things work - so remember to cut them some slack as they’re trying their best. Shop is not stocked- so bring your own snacks & lunches. Head torch is helpful. Adels grove has canoes available at the National park - a deposit just needs to be paid to secure paddles at the Adels grove store to collect them to take with you. Paddling along the gorge is a blissful experience & fabulous there is no charge to use the canoes. No wifi - there’s 3G coverage & a Telstra phone box. Showers were warm & a very light sprinkle of water. Washing machine available for use. Dining room has limited choice - food is simple, & is good & so is the portion size. Licensed Bar at Dining Area. Please be patient with all the staff while they try to serve lots of people at the same time. The kitchen burnt down last year & they’re cooking out of mobile kitchen shipping containers- so tricky when there’s bus groups in. Urn & kettle available, with tea & coffee - a donation for RFDS is all that’s requested. So, come & enjoy the National Park & make the most of what is here & be kind. Work on doing everything in holiday time. My suggestion would be for Adels Grove to contact all guests before arriving to let them know of the current changes.

The national park is fantastic. However it is so sad to see how bad Adels Grove camping and accommodation facilities have become. We had a group of 5 couples. All of our rooms were filthy and smelly. One room the toilet didn’t work, one the lights didn’t work, one had no hot water and all of them were dirty. When we turned up our rooms were not available until 7pm. We sat around for 2 hours waiting to get to our rooms and then found out the keys they gave us were for the wrong rooms who already had guests staying in them. Our room smelt like a dog had been in it. We had pre-paid for meals which were all done on a dirty old BBQ. The gorge boat cruise was nice and the gorge it self is sensational. So still come. However, If you stay here I recommend that you camp to avoid using their accommodation.

We had 5 nights at Adels Grove in a cabin with ensuite right at the beginning of the tourist season. The new owners and managers were friendly and helpful despite some significant challenges including a late wet season flood, staff shortages and various other glitches. Our cabin was very clean and comfortable (in fact the most comfortable bed in our whole trip!). Staying at Adels Grove gave us easy access to the spectacular Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) National Park where we spent our days walking, canoeing and swimming. We can't believe how lucky we were to have this experience right at our doorstep while we stayed at Adels Grove. We'd like to extend a massive thank you to Dennis and Carolyn and the Adels Grove team for their hospitality and for their hard work to make this experience so fabulous. It was eyeopening for us to see the creativity and flexibility needed to operate a tourist business in such a remote and sometimes harsh environment. We look forward to coming back as soon as we can. Thank you.
