The old school house b&b is absolutely amazing. The location and property is beautiful. The owner can’t do enough without being overbearing or in your face. As for the breakfast....yum yum is a basic but great way to describe how lovely it was. We loved it and are planning to go back as soon as we can.

We stayed here for 1 night mainly because I went here as a pupil and had fond memories of the place. We were met by Bev, who immediately offered us a cuppa in the beautifully remodelled school hall offering lovely views around. Personally I liked the free use of the main hall for teas and coffees and there’s a large screen tv here too. I nice place to just sit and chill, read a book or chat. The bedrooms are set well away from the living space and were warm, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was superb. There’s plenty of parking. We’d definitely stay again.

Just back from a short overnight break in Dumfries and Galloway stopping over night at The Old School B&B. Bev was very helpful on booking and provided a warm welcome on arrival (including Sam the Springer who is such a lovely friendly dog) Bev even offered to put on the kettle on for a pot of tea which is testament to her genuine hospitality for you her guests. The School House is simply beautiful inside, very spacious and homely. Our ensuite room was lovely. The cooked breakfast in the morning was amazing and was a great start to our day of walking in the area, armed with great suggestions from Bev which proved to be excellent. All in all The School House is simply... ‘Top class’. Many thanks Bev.

From the moment we opened the gate into the property we were made to feel very welcome. Bev showed us to our room which was en suite and spacious. It was also very clean and comfortable. We were shown where the tea and coffee was and encouraged to help ourselves as and when. The Old School has been lovingly converted and provides a comfortable base for exploring the area. Bev encouraged us to enjoy the sunshine and the views of the Abbey from her garden. Sam the dog is very well behaved but adds to the welcome and comfort of the place. We were offered a choice of time for breakfast, the full cooked breakfast was superb and we didn’t really need to eat lunch. All in all we had a wonderful stay and fully intend to return to explore even more of the area. Many thanks Bev.

We have just enjoyed our 2nd stay at the Old Schoolhouse. Such a lovely conversion with bright and cheerful rooms, great shower, tasty breakfasts and best of all Bev, who goes the extra mile to make a stay here special. Oh and not forgetting Sam who adds his own special welcome.
