Detailed Reviews
If you are looking for a great place for a getaway with some friends Mt Perry Federal Inn is the place to go. A beautifully renovated old picture theatre provides the perfect base to explore Mt Perry. We were here with friends Anzac weekend and owners and staff went out of their way to accomodate us providing breakfast and meals on days they’re usually closed! The locals of Mt Perry were also very welcoming, happy to include us in their Anzac commemorations. There is plenty to see and do in the area and some lovely easy walks to explore Mt Perry’s amazing history. Great food (strongly recommend Neptune chicken), great location and great people. What more could you want?

The Bundaberg MG Club travelled there with 20 members we were greeted by the friendly staff & Lance asked us if we would prefer to eat inside or out, the consensus was to eat inside. We all ordered our meals & sat down with a nice cold drink to await our meals, they came out slowly but as we were enjoying each others company it wasn’t a problem. Ver enjoyable meals I had the Shepherds pie very enjoyable. We will be back.

We had lunch at the Federal Inn on a day trip to Mt Perry and surrounding area.
What a great stop. This place really made our day. It was great to meet Susan & Walter who are the new owners. They were so hospitable and we left there feeling like family (with our chutney & lemon butter). Food was great and the deck out back was so nice and peaceful to dine.
The building is full of history and the accommodation looks very clean and comfortable if you want to do a spot of prospecting.
You can’t go past the Federal Inn.
Go the Sharkies!!

Really disappointing! We were a group of 11 & had booked this motel, the pub & the B&B for an overnight group ride. We all had dinner at the Fed & as much as the food was OK (mine was very overcooked & those the ordered it, had burnt garlic bread) the prices were even higher than most a la carte restaurants in Brisbane for a rather basic pub menu. The rooms were dirty & they were unable to even provide me a hairdryer to dry my hair. Compared to the $130/night to stay here, by consensus it was agreed the next day that the B&B was the best place to stay in town for a lot less. Don’t bother about this place - I assume since they are trying to sell it that they no longer care. The lady in “control” is just plain rude!

Hi Lisatait, I understand regarding the blowdryer, as i explained to you it had been missed placed and i apologised on the day for any inconvenience. It is ashame that you felt this way about your stay, however you didn't speak or report anything to us other than about the dryer. Not even when my apparently "rude" staff member pulled you up politely and privately about your consuming of your own personal bought alcohol in our Licensed Restaurant which is against the law. The photos you have placed on here is from the stains left behind by the towns bore water, most toilets in the town will have this stain unfortunately. I do apologise for this however the toilets are clean.

Great quality food and lovely hosts. Recently renovated and had 7 quality rooms to stay. Menu is extensive. Bistro 7 days for lunch and evening restaurant 6 days (not Sundays) from 5 PM. Well worth a visit on your north Burnett road trip. Lovely little town with plenty of history.

We stayed at the mount Perry caravan park for two nights and found this gem on our morning walk. The staff were so friendly and helpful giving information on the area and were to visit. We returned in the evening for a glass of wine, very good choice. For those that had a meal all I heard was fantastic and praise. Well worth a visit

My wife and I called in yesterday for a quick bite and a glass of wine. We sat in a lovely outdoor eating area, had a toasted sandwich and loaded fries. Not much but both were delicious, hot and fresh. Service was excellent.

We had lunch and came back for dinner at the Federal Inn. The owners, Shane and Rachael made us so welcome at lunch that we came back for dinner. I can recommend the pizza. Shane had just installed a new pizza oven that we had a tour of because we remarked on the excellent quality of his dish. This is a very small mining town that is a gem. The hotel has 6 rooms plus the bar and restaurant. If you are ever in the area, don't miss this.

The inside of this old picture theatre is done up very nicely and exceeded my expectations. The food is great, the coffee is great, the views are great. All very good value for money. Would love to visit again.

This is a lovely place that has been converted from the old cinema. The rooms provide all the basic amenities and the bed was very comfortable. A continental breakfast (toast and cereal) was provided in the room so you didn't have to wait for the restaurant to open in the morning. The evening menu at the restaurant provides standard pub fare and was reasonably priced. We received a very large serving and the meal was well cooked and very tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our evening at the Federal Inn.
