We spent just one night here in September 2007, when we took an overnight package excursion to the Colca Canyon from Arequipa. We certainly recommend Pozo de Cielo for such a short stay, and it would be even better as a base for exploring the area for several days. Here is a nice place in Chivay, where we stayed one night on our Colca tour. The beds are confortable with enough covers to keep you warm (otherwise there is a radiator too - perfect to heat up the bathroom for the morning shower!), the water in the shower is sufficiently warm and towels and shampoo/soap are provided.
