As it turned out, we got to Stonehaven exactly on time and received a nice welcome and check in.
The guest house itself is beautifully decorated - the owner is also an interior designer and it shows. We were very comfortable in our family room with gorgeous views of the harbour. My girls (age 6 and 7) loved playing on the beach and we enjoyed a windy but beautiful walk to Dunnottar Castle along the coastal path which starts just behind the guest house.
We ate at the pubs located in the harbour so only a 2 minute walk away.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the comfort, decor, location and views and would recommend Shorehead guest house to anyone looking to stay in Stonehaven. Thank you Jane for a lovely stay!

Room was very dark, stuffy, claustrophobic window overlooked refuse bins not great for £108.
Owner does not live on site so no cooked breakfast, on reaching dining room no bread to make toast, no fresh fruit or orange juice just prepacked pastries, muesli bars, microwaveable porridge pots.
We ended up walking into centre of Stonehaven and paying for a cooked breakfast in a local hotel.
Very disappointed considering price of stay .
The situation was good which was one reason I had chosen this accommodation but there were others that would have suited as well with breakfast included.
One day I returned to find cleaning materials left in my room -not sure if this meant that my room hadn’t be cleaned that day.
I will not stay again.
Our bedroom was very cramped with one window that only opened a few inches and overcrowded with furniture.
We did try to open a window in the guests lounge but that did not open at all. Again a safety concern.
It is now very dated and in places dirty and unkept.
Cleaning issues were very noticeable in all places.
Breakfast we were told was continental which you helped yourself too .
It’s classed as a B&B but the kitchen was open and guests were cooking their own food.
Which again did give us some safety concerns.
The only good thing about this place were the beds which were very comfortable and clean.
£130.00 for one night for two which in retrospect we should have left and demanded our money back .
I do have photographs that I’m happy to share privately.
Jean the landlady was very friendly and helpful.
We have no hesitation in recommending this guesthouse which is convenient for days out
