Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were visiting family in the area and stayed at this gem of a property for 2 nights, bed and breakfast. Very warm welcome by the Hosts. Spotlessly clean bedrooms in a self contained part of the buildings. 5 rooms in total which were all very well appointed. We stayed in Room 5 with a comfortable double bed, large en suite shower room with nice views across the countryside. Bottles of water provided in the room together with delicious home baking to enjoy with complimentary teas/coffees. Just the best breakfast buffet of yogurts, fresh fruits, home made pancakes, cold meats, cheeses, cereals and juices. Also available lovely cooked food, delicious bacon and eggs etc. etc. Plenty of car parking available around the property. Planning a return for longer than 2 nights sometime soon.

Wonderful long weekend spent at Chapel of Barras. Fantastic rooms and breakfast followed by the gorgeous surrounding of a farm. The hosts were extremely accommodating and helpful with local knowledge and suggestions. Would happily visit again.

Michelle and David are incomparable hosts! The level of service that they provide is exceptional and consistent. The breakfasts are wonderful with a variety of fruit, cereals, cold and hot meats, pancakes, croissants, and egg based dishes. Their accommodations are modern, clean, and extremely comfortable. The B and B is located in a rural area away from all the hustle and bustle yet convenient to an incredible number of places to visit. Stow your suitcases and use this location for many comfortable day trips. Enjoy the hospitality of the Drinkwaters. You won't be disappointed.

It's my precious... Wonderful farm B&B in a very quiet area 1 mile away the coastal main route near Dunnotar castle. Very clean and well equipped rooms, comfortable beds and new en-suite bathrooms. Very friendly welcome from our host. Creel Inn in Catterline for Dinner as a good recommendation.

This is the best BnB I have ever stayed in...bar none. Owners David and Michelle Drinkwater have taken hospitality to a new level with this friendly and well-appointed bed and breakfast just outside Stonehaven. They have added many little touches not found in most BnBs these days, like individually wrapped bars of soap, shampoo and conditioner and fresh milk in a Thermos flask for tea and coffee. The rooms are large and have plenty of power points for the business traveller. Breakfast is a sumptuous affair, cooked lovongly by Michelle and using fresh local ingredients. The pancakes are wonderful. I could drone on endlessly about how good this place is. It really is a game-changer and at an incredibly affordable price.

Stayed here for two nights last weekend. Exceptional B&B with lovely hosts. The whole house is exceptionally clean with large bedrooms and really comfy beds. Bathroom and shower spotless. Breakfast was to die for with a huge choice: home made bread, jam and marmalade. Home made pancakes were delicious too. Great base for visiting surrounding area. Would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to everyone and will definitely stay here again.
