Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely B&B in a beautiful rural location. Hosts are really nice and friendly and so helpful. Rooms are spotless and well equipped. Breakfast is amazing and I love the special touches such as homemade sweets on arrival and fresh water in our room. Would highly recommend and definitely return.

Dad and I stayed 3 nights in the twin room to attend The Open at Carnoustie. The room was spotless, with all the facilities you could possibly need. Superb value, with friendly hosts and a wonderful breakfast (and plenty of it). Beautiful peaceful location, just a stone throw from Stonehaven. Highly recommended.

We stayed for one night at this B&B and could have stayed longer. It far exceeded our expectations and is close to Stonehaven. Our room and ensuite were spotless, luxurious and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and Michelle and David have thought of everything for the traveller when away from home. We have no hesitation in recommending this B&B to anyone wishing to visit the Stonehaven area. Thank you Michelle and David for a great stay.

This was our third trip and as usual Dave and Michelle could not have been more welcoming. The rooms are stylish and very comfortable, breakfast was first rate and the location is quiet and relaxing but convenient to visit the area.

This is a 1st Class B&B situated in a lovely quiet farm setting and worth the short drive off the main road. The whole B&B is very well set out with well appointed large on-suited bedrooms with quality furnishings and views over the surrounding farmland. You will receive a warm welcome from the hosts who show you to your room and are happy to provide information about the local area, where to dine and what to see that meets your individual interests. A hearty Scottish breakfast is served in a sunny room with paintings on the walls by local artists including their daughter. Highly recommended and a big thank you to Michelle & David for making our stay so comfortable in every way.

Owners & cattle farmers Michelle & David couldn’t have been lovelier hosts. They met us at the door and gave us a warm welcome to their beautiful 5-room B&B. We had a room on the second floor which was very large with terrific views overlooking their fields and garden. It was so nice to hear birds chirping and no buses or people yelling outside your window as we did right in the city. And as we were resting for a bit, the cows sauntered into the field outside our window. Breakfast was a real treat with fresh rhubarb jam, fresh produce, and other locally-produced goodies. We were only there for one night, but we would definitely recommend this lovely B&B to others and would stay there again. It’s a little off the beaten path in farm country, but an easy drive into Stonehaven.

Travelling around Scotland from France, we spent one night in the farm of Michelle and David. Lost in the middle of fields, so quiet and confortable. Bathroom perfect, room and big dressing, wi fi.......... and a gorgeous breakfast. I tasted the home made haggis ! it was good ! Thank you for your warm welcome. Isabelle et Jean-Michel

Michelle and David Drinkwater were our welcoming hosts. They were very helpful and told us about their farm, their history, their family. It's easy to see why former guests have invited them to visit them back in New Mexico and other places. Our room (#5) had a wonderful view of the green pastures full of friendly brown cows (steers, actually). Visiting a working farm not far from Stonehaven and Dunnottar Castle was a real treat for us and helped with the genuine Scottish experience. The breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. The room was very clean, modern, comfortable and large!
