Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Disappointed. We read the reviews . BUT our room , sea view ...OK. large space but such a small bed! Honestly...one of the smallest I have seen..sound proof room no! We had noise till after 10pm on balconies.. Very weird oyr bathroom was down a corridor...like a hospital bathroom. I tiny sachet of shampoo for 2 people. Lights at night stuck.on! Glass door beside the bed so it was do bright u couldn't sleep. Thought about going home!! Couldn't park car ...way too busy but so tight. Take a tiny car No mobile signal! Plus was nice little wine bottles Sofa with view

Stayed here for a weekend away in Stonehaven. On arrival check in was simple enough and got our key from a key safe and let ourselves in. We had our own parking space around the back of building. We had the ground floor beach front room. Room was spacious and clean. Same with bathroom. The water pressure and shower was amazing. Bed was comfy. Plenty to watch on tv with usual apps such as Netflix, bbc, Brit box etc. The host (David) was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was continental with cereals, toast, yogurt etc. Location was very central. Right on sea front and in town centre. Would definitely recommend and worth what we paid.

This was one of the comfiest beds we slept in on a trip around Scotland. It was a cosy place and only a short walk along to the harbour. The host was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and nicely equipped and looking straight out onto the bay was lovely

On arrival at the bayview we had a nice surprise when we were told we had been upgraded to the penthouse suite. We had an amazing stay and enjoyed the views from our balcony. It was extremely enjoyable watching the sunset and sunrise from the comfort of our own balcony. I really didn’t want to come home.

Beautifully clean, perfect location and 1st class breakfast! Janice and David are the perfect hosts and help all they can to advise where to go and what is on around the area. The rooms are individual and decorated to a high standard. The views from the front facing rooms are amazing. We have stayed in almost every room in the Bayview, and each one has a delightful character of their own. Highly recommend this stunning B&B!

The Bayview B&B was excellent. Lovely rooms tidy clean and they all have a small balcony. We had an in ward facing room but would defo recommend getting a sea view if you can. Dave the owner was brilliant showed us round the room and gave lots of ideas for things to do and places to eat. Thanks Dave the Bay fish and chops was fantastic. Breakfast was lovely and a great start to the day

We stayed for the weekend for a birthday treat, and wish we could have stayed longer. The Landlord and Lady welcome guests with a wee dram of Whisky, served from a crystal decanter and some nice shortbread. Such a warm welcome. The hotel is decorated in themes around travels around the world, ie, African or Australian decor. Very summery in style. Our room had little alcoves and cubby holes for tea/coffee facilities and there was a selection of biscuits and Tunnocks products. The bed was big and comfortable, and there was extra blankets and extra duvet under the bed. The TV was up on the wall, and it was a big TV. The bathroom was quaint with an oval, corner bath/shower. The breakfast was top quality, with a menu of different choices different tastes. Scottish, Continental, Sweet, Fish based, or vegetarian, etc.. It was made to the highest standards, and not just bog standard put together like some other places. The quality is excellent, and arranged like the Michelin restaurant standards. They also have early morning, warm, home made muffins bursting with blueberries. Yoghurt pots, toast, cereals , juices and melon platters also put out for you to help yourself to. Right on the beach, breakfast room looks right out to the sea, and you can see everyone out with their dogs on their morning walks. A very beautiful and special place.

Wow... myself and my partner were looking for a romantic pre birthday for myself and we didnt know what to do. We went for a walk down the beach and came across Bay View and thought that we would just take a look around. We were met by the lovely Janice. Within a short time od leaving we called Janice to book a night. We have been to some lovely hotels,we have never done B&B this was outstanding. The breakfast was lovely, I don’t normally choose a full Scottish but it was perfect. Compilment to the chef plus all other staff. We will be back. Thanks for great memories

This B and B is perfect. We had a lovely welcome. Spotless room and views that you could not complain about. There were lots of little extras to make us feel further welcome too. The breakfast was top quality and again the service was friendly and caring. Stoenhaven is a perfect weekend break from Edinburgh. Easy drive and lots to do when you are there. We'll definitely be back at Bayview!

Stayed for a weekend recently and loved every minute. The establishment is rated 4star personally I would rate it 5 star, stayed in the lovely penthouse appartment which has amazing sea views. Breakfast was cooked to perfection, staff are very helpful and friendly, what more could you ask for. Great place to stay and I highly recommend it to others.
