Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Enjoyed our stay, room was clean, tidy, bed comfortable and we had a great sea view.. (Only comment TV needs to be on an arm to see from bed.)
Reception, bar, restaurant very good and the food was excellent..!
Off site parking, but able to find parking easily and car park opposite was free from 5pm - 8am

Simply needing a bed for a stopover visit, we chose a cosy double. It was indeed small but it was all that was needed. Room and bathroom recently refurbished to a high standard. Limited breakfast range but again all that was needed for the price we paid and quality of the freshly cooked provision was of a high standard. Would stay here again, maybe a slightly bigger room next time. Friendly and efficient staff throughout. We were not disappointed in any way.

We struggled to get accommodated for lunch today. There were 5 adults 3 children a baby and a dog! We tried a few places that had been recommended however they were all fully booked. We thought it was going to be a Gregg’s carry out but we noticed the N44. We got the last table, a huge table that had plenty room for our family and even the dog was made so welcome. The food we had was freshly cooked and the staff were pleasant, especially the young man behind the bar. He came to the table with water and treats for Maggie the dog. We had various items from the menu, fish, steak pie, chicken, croque Monsieur (?) gammon steak, sausages. All were cooked perfectly. The fish was the best ever my daughter said. My steak and ale pie was to die for. We will definitely return if we are visiting Stonehaven or that area. Thank you for making our day.

When you book a hotel you usually book to rest/sleep. This did not happen in this hotel. The walls are so thin you can hear everything happening in the rooms surrounding you. You can even feel the movements by neighbouring guests through the floor. The room did not reflect the photos on the website. The duvet had mould on it, and the carpet wasn’t secured to the floor. There was bird droppings all over the window that was easy to open and clean.

Looking at the website for this hotel it really did tick all the boxes , beware of glitzy marketing. To be fair my room was advertised as small and cosy and it most certainly was that . No sea view in room nine, just a frosted glass that when opened looked straight into a wall ! Walls very thin so you could hear other rooms flushing toilets. Food only served till 8pm and was ok , breakfast good. Ok for a night but better places nearby

Our seaview room had a marvellous view. Small but adequate - awaiting refurbishment we were told. All the staff were friendly and professional. The hotel throughout was very clean. The cooked breakfast with cappuccino was a real treat. Excellent value for money. We'll be back!

We booked a sea view room and although room and bathroom were small it was comfortable ,adequate and the view made up for it ! Bed was soft but slept well in it .T.V was big so a plus there .Think if it was summer we would have needed to sleep with patio door open a bit as was the only window .Plenty hot water in a recently refurbished bathroom ,it's a shame the handle and lock on bathroom door weren't renewed, this let it down a bit .Ate in the lounge bar and food was excellent. Great vegan option .Breakfast was excellent with enough options so no complaints there. We would return to a sea view room again before the winter so we can sit and look at the sea before it gets dark .

We used the hotel for their accommodation & meeting space. Was not disappointed. Karen and the team were brilliant from start to finish - they ran everything in the background on the meeting day so professionally and we didn't have to ask for anything it was all taken care of. A few of our delegates stayed the night before and said the rooms were lovely and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Stonehaven - excellent central location too!

We loved the food here. It’s was delicious (pasta dishes, fish and chips, burger, chicken strips). So much so we returned a second time while holidaying in Stonehaven. Our daughters loved their food and staff were so friendly and helpful. Thank you

Traditional no frills hotel. Unexpected lovely view onto the beach and hear the waves crashing on shore. Room was small but absolutely fine, shower modern and powerful.

What was outstanding was the service, every single member of staff extremely helpful and pleasant.

We were a family of ten adults, special shout out for the barmaid from the Czech Republic. Went out of her way to serve us and looked after us despite being a busy bar and a few of the party having couple too many!
