Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Been twice in 1 week. Had the Sunday roast which was terrific and discovered skirlie. Very tasty. 2nd visit I had chicken with haggis bon bon and also amazing. My husband had the steak pie both times and said it was delicious. Recommend the raspberry cheesecake too.... it was so good. I got mine as a takeaway as was full Its a lovely place to eat and has good atmosphere. All staff were great. Absolutely will return

Before booking this place i read the reviews and someone suggested having Room 14. SO I phoned Bar 44 and booked that room. FANTASTIC . We loved it. The check in young lady was efficient friendly and welcoming. The staff in the restaurant area were amazing. Morning and evening there was superb service and again friendly and efficient. We did'nt see the chef but we thoroughly enjoyed each meal we had there. If we should visit Stone Haven again this would be the place to stay again. Our room was perfect and anything we used\ate was replaced . We were able to park directly outside the hotel without any problem .

Excellent food and service. Good range of dishes, catering for everyone. Food as amazing and so well presented. Cocktail menu and it would have been rude not to try one. I had, “the ruin” and it was very flavoursome. An all round great experience. I would highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Number 44 catered for my late fathers wake, was set out lovely staff greeted everyone and directed them to tables then started serving teas and coffees once everyone in, they opened up a buffet that included some soup, sausage rolls sandwiches and tray bakes was absolutely delicious . Lots of the guests made lovely comments on how nice the function suit was looking and that they never new it was there .

This Hotel is a gem. My whole experience was excellent, great attentive Staff, excellent breakfast and clean and comfortable rooms. Dog friendly which includes dog treats! Right opposite Town Square, with on street free parking close by and just a short distance away from the sea front.

Traditional no frills hotel. Unexpected lovely view onto the beach and hear the waves crashing on shore. Room was small but absolutely fine, shower modern and powerful. What was outstanding was the service, every single member of staff extremely helpful and pleasant. We were a family of ten adults, special shout out for the barmaid from the Czech Republic. Went out of her way to serve us and looked after us despite being a busy bar and a few of the party having couple too many!

Absolutely lovely hotel. Fantastic room with lovely co-ordinated decorating throughout the hotel. Room felt very homely, clean with a good bathroom. Staff were fantastic especially Michelle and Sam behind the bar. Quality breakfast with plenty of choice. Nachos were great too!
