I think Stonehaven and the old harbour is a fascinating place. A full moon and a gale added to the atmosphere during dinner at our window table. A warm welcome, a warm pub & restaurant, nice room with a modern en suite bathroom. Full breakfast and then a taxi to the train station for a direct service to Dyce. A... More

My husband and I stayed at the Ships Inn for one night. The accommodations were simple but clean. People were pleasant and the town is darling. We had a harbor view room with a large bed and adequate bathroom. The room had a television and internet is free. The Inn is part of a pub/restaurant which was fun and the... More

Nice room, very clean, but a bit of a squeeze with double bunk squeezed in, preventing the bathroom door from opening fully. I can see the commercial imperative for this, but not great if you are not a family.

We do only have one cot, and this has always been the case, so there is no way that you would have been told otherwise if you did, indeed, phone about the matter. We confirmed in writing that we would provide a cot for one of the rooms, the other room (a family room) has a single bed which we... More

I stayed at the Ship Inn for four days. It was glorious ! The inn faces Stonehaven harbour and I was privy to spectacular sunrises each morning, quacking ducks and seagulls. My room was small but cozy. Very clean. The staff was so friendly and ready to help. I had a delicious breakfast each morning and the food in the... More

Spacious rooms. Lovely view. Great shower. Food only average. Would stay again and revisit Dunnotar castle. Stunning scenic hike.+++++ also take the walk along the boardwalk for a bit and get an icecream

Arrived around half past 12 for a bar lunch on a busy Saturday. Sun was shining for a change. Ordered food and sat outside enjoying a cold beer. Took about twenty minutes for the food to arrive and when it did they had got my order wrong. I was left waiting for the correct order while my wife had no... More

My expectations were high, so I was a bit disappointed by the room, but it was ok for one night. We were 4 and the family room is a little too tiny, the rooms are upstairs of the busy pub. The staff was polite, even if they are obviously giving more attention to the pub. We had dinner there, good... More
