If u dont expect luxurious place (and u shouldn't when u come to a small district like this) but need a clean room with friendly staff, here is the place. Nothing spacial. Nice beds for 3 of us and unfortunately with no bad lcony or river view. ( we were told that a river view room wS too small for a family). Staffs are vere friendly and try to give u info about the place.

We wanted to see the Khmer site in Phimai. There wasn’t a great selection of hotels so we chose this one for a night’s stay. We arrived early afternoon. My wife, who is Thai, did the check in - in her words the staff were offhand. We were able to park in a car park at the back. The hotel had very limited facilities (we left early and skipped breakfast as a result). Our room was basic but ok and we slept well. It had a balcony with a view over the river (see photo). Getting out of the car park was a bit troublesome because of the amount of cars parked but the night guard helped us reverse out; he was very friendly. I have no idea if others would have been better but this was reasonably located (plenty of restaurants 10 mins walk away) and is conveniently on the edge of town for car access.

I have visited Phimai before but first time in this hotel . Most of the Country hotels offer basic accommodation however I found this hotel to be very friendly and more than willing to assist as much as possible. They offer free bike hire in which to explore the city and along with clean good sized rooms and some basic Thai food available in the restaurant all makes things very comfortable indeed . I will certainly stay here next time in Phimai.

When looking online I was a bit hesitant about this hotel. The pictures portrayed a cold hospital look. Since is was already 6 pm, we were tired and close by we decided to give it a try anyways.
Kitchen was closed for the evening and when we came back from picking up dinner to go we asked for 2 plates and fork and knives which the could not help us with. Excuse me, I see the plates sitting in the corner, can I help myself ? No, no plates for the room, I was told. I was very disappointed in the service or la k of it.

The hotel is new, the room is spacious, clean but still very cold looking, no night lamp, no picture on the wall.... like a ...hospital.

It the morning I was greeted with a smile, free coffee in the corner, hot water and instant coffee but better then nothing. A breakfast menu next to it but when I wanted to order I was told that there were not enough guest to have a cook today so no service again.

If you just need a bed, by all means. But if you need anything more then that then I recommend different options for your stay.

If this review is helpful to you, then please give it a thumbs up. :)

We had to make an unexpected stop in Phimai on our way from Bangkok to Khon Kaen and ended up in this hotel ... actually the first hotel in sight if you enter the town from the south side (just across the river).
Rooms are standard : small flatscreen, AC, small fridge. Everything in working order and everything clean and well kept.
The hotels offers a (limited) restaurant service which we did not use as the town centre is within walking distance. There is limited car parking behind the hotel but ample space in front of it. Security guard on duty at night time.
No big deal, but just what you need to spend the night in a comfortable way at a very reasonable price (600THB/nt).
Not much more to expect from this hotel

Hard to tell if there will be food served. Sometimes it is closed, sometimes not. The food is best skipped anyway. Rooms are clean, but not very sound-proof. Easy to hear the next room. If the Amatara had a very nice restaurant for all day, this could be a top hotel, but I see no chance of that happening.
Some staff speak fluent English, some not so much, but all seem friendly and courteous. Nicer rooms are on the river, but all those rooms have two twin beds. Plenty of parking, and a short walk to get some food at many other shops and restaurants. Wifi good most always, unless it is raining.

We have just stayed here for 3 nights while cycling through SE Asia and loved our stay. Super clean, spacious rooms with large comfy bed. Serviced daily with waters, new towels etc. Staff incredibly friendly despite minimal English. Breakfast available at extra cost and we had 2 pieces of toast jam/butter for 20b and there is free tea, coffee between 6-11am. You can also order a Thai breakfast.
At mid July we paid 600b for our room which we thought was great value. Location walking distance to everything easy town to explore by foot.
Tips:
Great night market for dinner
60b large beers served on site downstairs with ice
The twin rooms have better view over the river
Double rooms (1 bed) have no view out the back - we had this but no complaints

Only minor was there is an army cadet college across the road where the instructors yell over a speaker from 0500-2100. Not sure if this is all the time. Still wouldn't stop me staying here.
