Stayed one night as were visiting family in the area. We were made to feel very welcome. Ended up eating at the restaurant twice while we were there and the food was excellent. Comfortable room and friendly staff, proper country inn atmosphere, would highly recommend.

Pleasant and friendly pub with good service. The food was very average though with the pork shank in cider being a bit on the bland side and the ploughman's lunch literally just cheese, ham and two slices of bog standard white bread! The beer also seemed a bit 'tired' when we visited

Just spent 3 nights B/B here, very old fashioned family run country pub, very friendly and rooms clean and comfortable. Will stay again when next in area. They do not do a full English breakfast but a continental type in your room I found this no problem at all.

This place is in serious need of an update. The carpets didn't look like they had been vacuumed. All of the furniture looks like it has been there since the 1970's. The shower and tiling needed a good scrub with some bleach. Breakfast consisted of 5 or so packets of cereal, with milk and orange juice in a fridge in...

Red Lion, Longwick is a very quirky pub. Each room is different, clean, comfy and welcoming. Landlord greeted us in car park and was very friendly. Evening meals served in the restaurant were varied and good value. Stayed two nights with friends and ate there twice. Missed a full breakfast, but cereal and orange juice in the bedroom was acceptable....

If you want a cheap room for a night or two then the Red Lion is ideal but don't expect anything smart. Our bathroom had new looking flooring but four old bathmats on it, presumably because the shower cubicle is flimsy and leaks!( The wardrobe was in the bathroom too.!!) Breakfast is in-room, with milk and orange juice provided in...

I needed a room as I was doing site inspections at a couple of locations around Reading in the day and then Aylesbury on the same night. I searched LateRooms.com and booking.com and found this nicely prices room for one person to include a continental breakfast. The Red Lion is located conveniently in a local village and had a lovely...

Pretentious keyboard warriors move on! Stayed 3 nights on business here. Are the rooms dated? Yes. Are they comfortable, clean and good value? Yes. Do they provide fresh milk, orange juice and affordable quality? Yes. Jerry is very friendly and downstairs the food and drink is very good. Perfect if you need a place to rest your head

Stayed here a lot when I was working away and I must say I cannot fault the place. Ok its not quite the same as a premier inn when it comes to the rooms etc but if you need a room for the night, an evening meal and friendly atmosphere then you can't go wrong with this place. Gerrod is...
