We sat in the garden for drinks in the summertime, lovely big garden so great if you're visiting with friends. They do have an inside bar as well. Also dog friendly (in the garden anyway.) Staff and service was great. Great if you're staying away for business.
This is a not frills hotel attached to a well equipped conference venue. The bedrooms are tiny, but the bed is comfortable and the shower powerful and plenty of hot water. The conference rooms are good and the support great.
Room was cramped (stated as 'cozy'). All my years as an estate agent I couldn't call a bedroom a double unless there was at least 1.5 ft gap all around the bed...as this had about 8" from the base to the wall, I wouldn't have classed it as a bedroom. Perhaps the bed headboard should have been up against the window? I wouldn't mind so much but at £90 I would have expected a bit more comfort. The bed was a bit rickety and thin mattress, luckily I had enough beer in the evening to help me sleep. TV, temperature and room facilities all ok, but the whole place felt a bit like a sanatorium. Breakfast was in a rather impersonal void, highlighting the conference element to this place. The choice of breakfast was limited and pretty poor, unappealing shrivelled egg (see pic), stewed mushrooms and soggy hash browns under hot lights. The bacon was limp and anaemic (but was surprisingly tasty) and all this accompanied by a strange choice of party music pumping from the speakers...think they had last nights party playlist on an eternal loop.…
It's a little quirky, for sure, as it's more of a conference venue with accommodation than a traditional hotel. But the location is wonderful and the grounds are nicely maintained. The rooms are small but tastefully furnished, and the bathroom is perfect with a really good shower. When I booked, the price was similar to an (expensive at the time) Premier Inn in Maidenhead and the two are worlds apart. Moor Hall has character and charm and is in a good location for eating out and visiting the area. Breakfast was excellent and Ana at reception was charming and helpful.
Set in beautiful surroundings and really nice village with a great high street. Rooms were basic and clean. Good shower. Only 1 towel in the room. Very small rooms! The breakfast was good. Excellent pastries and coffee choice. Reasonably priced.
