Only stayed one night but very pleasant - would have loved to stay longer! Large room, clean enough and everything worked fine. The deluxe rooms have a terrace that looks out over a few small rice paddies. Very helpful and friendly staff with good English (we also did the village tour). They will bring you tea or kopi tubruk any time. One caveat is that the building next door is under construction as of mid-January 2020, so you'll need earplugs to nap. Also note that Google Maps may not show the proper location; the homestay is in central Borobudur area next to the Alea coffee shop.

The guest house is only 15 minutes walk from the famous temple, staff are great and organised a sunrise trip to see the sun rise over the temple, we were up at 4am! Such great people. They really need to clean the place though, there were huge ants everywhere, cobwebs that were years old, don;t think the furniture had ever been wiped down since it was put there ten years ago. Pity. The main mosque of the town is just across the rice fields at the back of the guest house which can easily wake you up at the crack of dawn, take ear plugs :-)
They also organised a rafting trip for us which was great fun. Only about 20 minute drive from the guest house. There is no wifi in the room, you need to be close to reception for that. You get a voucher for a discount to the temple entrance, apparently all accomodation in the area gives this out. It's 15% off the ticket so you pay 187,000 instead of 220,000 for a day's entrance.
The mosque 'noise' is on from 4.30 till 8am on a Sunday, so if you can, avoid Sundays. Wish we did!
The room was very dark, not enough lighting in the room, and only one power point to charge mobile phones, batteries, etc.

Jack Priyana, who runs this place is a local celebrity, and he, his family and the boys and girls who work there will do anything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Besides visiting the temple, you can also take the bicycles to explore the environment. (it,s really nice to cycle through small villages, to cross little rivers and see the rice-or tobaccofields) or the boys will drive you around on a motorbike.
The rooms are big and some are decorated with old javanese furniture. It is nice to spend an afternoon on the balcony on the first floor, overlooking the rice fields and small villages at the back of the hotel.
The rooms at the back are more quiet.

We booked 2 nights in a very large family room with 2 large beds and mosquito nets.
It is the perfect location to walk to the temple at sunrise.
We also booked a tour with Eric to visit villages, tofu factory.... it was really interesting and Eric was very knowledgeable, funny and super friendly. I highly recommend him.
My daughters really liked him too.

Merci

Stayed there 2 nights to go to the sunrise at Borobudur
Staff is awesomely friendly and helpful
They offer small excursions around Borobudur which are really worth it (I did the one to Selogryo (rice fields) which was amazing and met some ppl who visited the local factories and they enjoyed it very much)
Don't miss the terrace on the first floor which is good place to chill

The room is big but not clean at all. We came late so we didnt have the time to look for another place. Unfortunately we had to stay here.
We had the big room in the first floor.
The bed was ugly. The doors are old and can hardly close them. You can see the roof, and there are lot of holes.
IN THE EVENING I WAS LYING IN THE BED AND THERE WERE TWO RATS RUNNING ON TOP OF THE WALL WHERE THE ROOF STARTS. The receptionist was having a laugh and said maybe it was a cat! He also proposed to return the money (225k), but we stayed there because it was really late.
The wi-fi doesn't work fluently in the room and the light is really weak.

Seen better days - whilst not exactly dirty the room was old and in need of a coat of paint to cover the damp patches.
Considering we paid 250,000 IDR I was surprised that I could not get a small bottle of water as my "welcome drink" - only hot tea or coffee on a scorchingly hot day. Poor breakfast served on slightly dirty plates.
Minimum effort on all fronts from the staff.
Moved to a nicer place for our second night, same price but clean and professionally run.

I was happily surprised by this place. The rooms are large, the staff is nice and the location perfect to visit Borodudur temple (they organize sunrise tours from a hill nearby and it's very close to Manohara hotel where you can buy ticket to get inside the temple at 4am)
