Well this has all the pros and cons of a typical Aman, which most of the readers will know (+ Stunning architecture, great location, great personal service, fabulous rooms/villas - Mediocre/medium quality food, feels stiff, guests take themselves too seriously and food/extras are outrageously expensive ). What makes this resort special is the amazing design and layout by Ed Tuttle...

Warning - if you must be connected to the outside world and on the go - steer clear! This amazing place is a rarity in today's world - isolated and insulated, you almost believe time has stood still. No televisions (wifi is very slow so unplug for a true immersion in peace). Staff is attentive and fabulous. They anticipate your...

This place knocked it out of the park in terms of customer service. From start to finish, everything was five start service and quality. They have great day tours around the local villages and temples and they go all out with producing quality, local food at a very high standard. We went with a toddler, and they had a kids...

Overlooking Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist sanctuary, in the lush heartland of Central Java. Amanjiwo, meaning peaceful soul, is a haven of tranquility and definitely among the best Aman resorts and one of my favourite with Amangiri. We have spent 4 days here. Upon landing, we were greeted by the resort staff who whisked us directly from the plane to...

Amanjiwo is about 1.5 hrs car ride from Jogjakarta. It is situated over a huge ground on a hill and it is an amazingly tranquil place for honeymoon and retreat. The staff are highly trained and the food is pretty good. The hotel offers various activities, some are free, some are for a fee. I enjoyed the sunrise Borobudur trip...

The temple looking main entrance is visually impressive. Rooms were good. Pool was not bad. But for REAL luxury enthusiasts, please note that this 5 Star Luxury Hotel only has 1 restaurant. Plus, this restaurant is very small, has no air-conditioning whatsoever and a very limited and basic menu, considering it is a USD 1,000 per night (average) hotel. It...

I finally treated myself to a stay at an Aman for my birthday. The location is unbelievable, totally remote and absolutely stunning and the architecture of the hotel is just beautiful. Unfortunately the amenities and service wasn't quite the same standard; the room was quite basic but large of course. I still don't understand how they don't have tooth kits...

We have spend unfortunately only two night here, but the place is amazing. It's a very small hotel with beautiful grounds, swimming pool, excellent service and gourmet dining. The views of both Borobudur as well as nearby vulcanos and spectacular. Will love to come back and spend more time

Family trip to Borobudur (incl. teenage kid) Aug 2016. Really regret that we could stay there only for one night. Wine tasting dinner by the swimming pool, sunrise tour to Borobudur, sweaty one hour tennis..all were very much enjoyable. Room, facilities, service levels were all excellent. Only issue was that food was too sophisticated for teenage child while they could...

I stayed in this property 8 years ago and we are staying again for my birthday now. Room is very well maintained and they went extra mile to accomodate my 7 years old son and my 20 months baby. Kids robe, kids slipper, plastic tub for bathing the baby, baby amenities, bottle sterilizer...you name it. Great Staff is very friendly...
