Two of us stayed overnight at Amuya after arriving in Waingapu. Positives: - Great location close to the centre. - Lovely courtyard style garden setting with pool. - Nice communal lounge/dining area. - WiFi good. - Off road parking. Negatives: - The hotel staff had no record of our booking and payment when we arrived. The owner had told them they had no new arrivals that day. - Our room was pretty poor, and certainly not to the same standard as the rest of hotel. It’s like it belonged to a different place altogether: peeling wallpaper, TV/cable unplugged and not connected, aircon stuck on one temperature, no hangers in wardrobe, door handles missing, only one bedside table, no kettle/hot drinks or hairdryer (all listed as standard), awful smell from bathroom drain, mould on bathroom walls, heavily stained tiles, bathroom not very clean, bathroom fan filthy dirty. - Other reviews talk about a great breakfast being served. We had watermelon, and a basic watery soup with boiled rice. Absolutely fine, but not quite the feast we expected. Maybe it was because they weren’t expecting guests! The hotel could be great, but they have neglected the rooms. Maybe they haven’t made much money and have neglected to maintain the bedrooms. Overall I would say that unfortunately, at over 500k for the night, it represented poor value.

We spent here 2 times, altogether 1 week at this beautyful place. Everything is totally clean with a good Wifi, AC und a great shower with hot water. The place is very cosy and stylish! It is very quiet there and it is in the center of the town. My husband and I were travelling without guide and private car, so we often had questions. Lusi always recommended and advised us very helpful. Ist was easy to rent a scooter there. All in one, for us it was the perfect place, we hope, to come again.

This is a delightful accommodation which is much more than just a Homestay - it is tastefully and beautifully furnished and the en-suite bedrooms are very comfortable with good quality air conditioning. The 8 rooms are arranged around a lovely pool and garden. The pleasant dining/sitting area offers an open view to garden and pool. Coffee and toast with fruit as well as an Indonesian breakfast is available each morning and as the Owner Lusi also has a restaurant - additional meals can be ordered at other times. Coffee and tea are always available as well as a kettle provided in each room. The staff are friendly and helpful and everything is kept exceptionally clean and well maintained. I have greatly enjoyed my stay here and would be very happy to return.
