This place was really beautiful, I really enjoy what it looks like : all the furnitures made out of funky trees, the fireplace, the huge dinning room, the candle atmosphere, ... The staff pays attention the each detail to make our stay unbelivable. I really enjoy the fact that we have our private guide for activities, so no need to...

Liana Lodge seemed hard to reach at first but get good directions and it will be worth it! You need to take a boat ride out to the lodge once you reach the parking area. You will pass the Amazoonica. Look for monkeys and make sure to spend an afternoon there during your stay. Beautiful structures and cool locally carved...

we spent 2 nights at Líana Lodge and felt quite well. You can go into the kitchen and looking how they are preparing the delicious food. You eat with candle light everything is organized. You can sit on a veranda at the shore of the river watching the wild monkeys. The tours were interesting and also made fun for our...

An amazing rainforest experience. Super boat trip to get to it. Wonderful central reception, dining area and 'semi detached' lodges. We were in 2:1 with 2 twin beds and a reasonable bathroom with shower. No electricity in the rooms so we had candles and one in the bathroom. Shared balcony with hammock. Breakfasts were good consisting of breads, jams, fruit,...

Our family of four stayed in this lodge for two nights and we wished we would have had more time there. It is a unique place to stay, rustic and beautifully built in the Amazon jungle. We stayed in adjoining twin bed rooms of the same hut, sharing a back porch from which one morning we were delighted to see...

My husband, 22 year old daughter and I traveled to Liana Lodge in mid-May. We took a bus from Banos to Tena and from there caught a bus to Puerto Barantilla where our motorized canoe was waiting to zip us down the Arajuno River (a tributary of Rio Napo). The instructions the lodge gave us for the bus trip were...

If you are looking for luxury, you've got the wrong place. If you are drawn to an authentic experience and an escape to a lost world, you've found it. Even though the high-humidity kills me, I rank it as a must-do. You won't get here by road, you take a motorized canoe to the beautiful thatched-roof lodge, hidden on the...

My wife, 9-yr old son and I recently spent 3 nights at Liana Lodge (Mar 21, 22, 23) and we take from that memories that will last a lifetime. When we arrived by motorized canoe, we were met by René, our very friendly host from Switzerland. After helping us up to the main building with our luggage, he started giving...

Our host, Rene, was very welcomming and friendly. He speaks english and german next to spanish, which is quite rare in Ecuador. He explained the history of the lodge and the projects they run to protect the rainforrest and the animals and to teach the local children in their school. All meals were included in our stay and they were...

My boyfriend and I spent a month traveling through the different regions of Ecuador, three nights of which was spent at the Liana Lodge in the Ecuadorian Oriente. We can not say enough about the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable as well as provided a top notch dining experience. The food...

“The rooms are in lodges around the grounds, some are up hills and others near the water. This would be the only difference to my knowledge”

“The geography is you arrive on the river, then walk up a set of steps to reach the public area. From there all rooms are uphill, some quite a ways uphill. If you are lugging a lot of bags or are infirm it will be a challenge if you take a cabana very far from the entrance. Even the close ones are a climb.”

“I loved cabin 5 - the furthest to lug your luggage, but the a great 'lost in the woods' feel! Bring a flashlight or headlamp, consider a mosquito net and good bug spray.”
