We loved Al Fuori del Tempo! Anna, our host, was so gracious, and our room had a perfectly charming view of the Tuscan countryside. Breakfast was amazing, and the room could not have been more welcoming and comfortable, with so many personal touches.

This property was formerly a vacation rental known as Casa Anna. We stayed here on two different occassions and are returning this summer. Anna is a warm and charming hostess. B&B Al di Fuori del Tempo is amply spacious and tastfully furnished. Anna is a charming hostess (perhaps we will meet her daughter this Summer). Anna's garden is delightful and has a beautiful, panoramic view of the Val D'Orcia. Monticchiello is close to both Pienza and Montepluciano. A glass of wine at dusk on the balcony of La Porta looking across the valley to Pienza completes the experience. Note: our actual travel dates were in 2004 and 2007, but those dates were not available for selection.

We stayed here when traveling from Cinque Terre to Umbria in September 2011. We had eaten at La Porta in this charming village the previous year and thought Monticchiello was perfectly located between Montepulciano and Pienza, two of our favorite towns. There were few reviews but we decided on this beautiful B&B. It is owned by Anna and her daughter Francesca. The accommodations were delightful. The bedrooms and living room were filled with antique furniture, the bathroom spacious, the price was extremely reasonable. There are two bedrooms (plus an attic loft) which share a common bathroom Cars cannot be driven into the village unless one is a resident but parking is nearby, and Francesca was able to drive us and our luggage on departure to our vehicle. They have a beautiful garden area with fig and pear trees, grapevines, rosemary, and stunning views of Tuscany. When we said we'd like to sit in the garden area before supper, Francesca gave us a bottle of prosecco and pastries to enjoy while sitting and admiring the view. While our favorite restaurant La Porta was closed on the night we were in Monticchiello, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the newly opened La Cantina. We had a lovely breakfast the next morning which was included in our rate. Highly recommend this accommodation in this tiny Tuscan village!

This place was recommended to us by a friend who lives close by, we were treated like family by Anna & her daughter Francesca during our 9 days stay there. We had a room with the most beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. We had excellent breakfast every morning with a variety of hot & cold selection.
We were out from early morning to late evening, felt so good to be back in a clean room and cold drinks in the fridge every night.
Would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants any authentic Tuscan experience.

Staying with Anna and Francesca was an amazing experience! We loved the charming, historic house full of paintings and interesting books and the well-tended garden with the view over the valley. Anna prepared luxurious breakfasts for us and gave lots of valuable information on the area and where to go. Al di Fuori del Tempo is a very relaxing and quiet place and a perfect location to explore the Val d'Orcia (provided you have a car).

The first thing I look at when reading B&B reviews, is what people say about the hosts. So, based on the overwhelmingly good reviews Anna and her daughter got, we chose to stay at Al di Fuori del Tempo and it was a wonderful choice – felt just right for our winter break in Tuscany!
My husband and I so enjoyed meeting Anna. Her hospitality was warm and generous and we always enjoyed a chat over breakfast or in the evenings. She also helped us plan our trips and choose where to eat. Of course, we were also pleased to meet her daughter, Francesca and little Nina.
The house was always warm, cosy and friendly - a lovely place to return to at the end of each day! We enjoyed the view from our room which was very clean, spacious and comfortable with a wonderful warm duvet. The house also has a beautiful, private garden in which to relax.
When we left, we felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend - we hope to meet up again one day! Anna made us so comfortable - just hope we didn’t make ourselves too much at home!
In our opinion, Montichiello is a perfect Tuscan village –whilst Tourists do visit, it’s been totally unspoiled by tourism.

What's beautiful spot to enjoy the views of the Valle d'Orcia. My favorite spot was in the garden with a glass of wine a a book. The rooms were spacious and Anna made us feel like family. The walk down to the gate for sunset was well worth the trip and meals at il Porto and drinks at the guardhouse made it hard to leave this tiny charming village.
