We stayed at this beautifully quiet and relaxing Tuscan country home for four nigts and we can say and it was really the best place we could choose - Francesca is a really nice host, the homemade breakfasts, served outdoors in front of our room, were just incredible, and we had the best sleep in the peace and quiet. The location is in the middle of beautiful Tuscan countryside - perfect for trips to nearby towns, visiting wine cellars, taking photos or just relaxing. Just a perfect Tuscan stay!

I wish I could have spent more than just a few days here. It was absolutely everything I wanted in a Tuscan stay. The location is perfect for visiting the surrounding areas, sightseeing, cheese tasting... basically everything you want to do in Tuscany and the Val D'Orcia. The room was clean, good sized, and the breakfasts every morning were the perfect way to start out. Carla and Francesca were both so friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to go back one day!

If you want to enjoy the scenery and have a quiet stay in the countryside, this is the place.
The rooms are cozy and comfortable, and the breakfast is spectacular.
Our hostess, Francesca, was probably the best part of our stay. She is lovely and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. She had great recommendations for restaurants and vineyards.
I definitely recommend this B&B and would stay here again.

There are so many great things about this place, it's simply the perfect Italian stay!

To begin with, Carla's a beautiful, charming and caring person who was more than happy to help me out with anything. She pointed out the must-see attractions, the good wines and checked on me from time to time, to make sure everything was good. She's the Italian mother I never had! Carla really went all out to make sure my stay was a pleasant one. I booked the place the night before and she was quick to respond, hence, communication was not a problem at all!

The room's fabulous, which has got a lovely Italian feeling to it. Carla certainly put a lot of thought into the little details to the room. Both the bathroom and room were clean, which is really important to me. Not to mention, I was welcomed by the lovely smell of natural lavender as I entered the room! Loved that very much. There's also a living room where you can relax and have a cup or coffee or tea or orange juice plus homemade cake, which was made available throughout.

Breakfast was delicious and I was always looking forward to it!

The location is perfect! About 2 minutes from Monticchiello by car and there are some lovely places to eat there. Also, there's a gorgeous garden on-site where you can relax and have a good view of Monticchiello. I didn't do my research prior to arriving to the bnb that I had to call her to get the details. But she offered to meet me and drive together to her place, which was life saving!

I must say that I've been into my Italy trip for more than 2 weeks now and this is the best place I've stayed so far. An impeccable experience! Highly recommended!

I really hope to return to this great Italian home soon. Thank you very much again for everything, Carla!

Myself, boyfriend and two kids (10 & 6 yrs ) stayed in the two rooms to the left as you come in....both have en suit with great pressure showers...any temperature desired :) my friend stayed in the big room to the right with her three kids. Also with en suite shower. ( 13, 9 & 8 yrs ) .
They were delighted to arrive and see a lizard dissapearing among the greenery. Such an amazing garden ! And the B&B which is a beautiful and tastfully decorated converted stable was so nice and comfortable. Felt genuine and very Italian. Giuseppe and Nicole were amazing. So friendly and helpful. All the kids had very different preferences and they were so accommodating with breakfast. I woke up every morning excited about the best coffee I have ever experienced ! We got loads of tips and advice...had I been there without children we would have done it all....but with children there was only one thing that interested them...pool. we went to friends place that had pool and also to bagni San Filippo. Amazing place. When we came back in the evenings the house was lovely and cool with fans in all the bedrooms. We cooked meals ourselves in the evenings. Didn't miss anything. It was so amazing ! Would love to go back. I looked up the place on Google maps and "walked" to it from Monticchiello on the map so I found it easily. My only regret is that I didn't take out more money when I was in the closest town of montepulciano so I could have tipped better! They were worth their weight in gold!

We were lucky enough to stay with Carla and Francesca for one night late in the season. This place is straight out of a Tuscan postcard or country living magazine. The rooms were comfortable and extra blankets provided a very cozy evening on a chilly October night. The access to the grounds around the B&B were lovely and the views up to Monticchiello and of the cyprus-lined country road were lovely. Francesca was an incredible host, talking with us about the area and providing an excellent cooked breakfast with vegetables from her own garden! We loved getting to know her and hear about her love of the area. If you want a local, country-chic place to stay and to be treated like family – this is your place; we wish we could have stayed longer.

All my life I've wanted to go to Tuscany - I finally made it as I celebrated my 50th birthday on a very special trip to Italy with my husband. Staying at Carla's B&B in Monticchiello was the icing on the cake! This quiet, comfortable, lovely home was everything previous reviewers have said and more. The pictures are accurate and the experience one of the best I've ever had traveling.

First, the location. Monticchiello is perfectly set between Pienza and Montipulciano. The countryside is breathtaking - the roads windy and lush, the cypress trees plentiful, etc., etc. GO!!!

Second, the suite was clean, comfortable, spacious. The bed very comfy, the water pressure strong, the shower hot.

Breakfast was delicious every morning. My husband and I stayed here three nights, and every morning Carla's son Giuseppe and/or his girlfriend Nicole (both delightful!) prepared a lovely Tuscan breakfast for us: fresh fruit from their garden, pastries, yoghurt, breads, jams, coffee and juice, sometimes meats and cheeses, etc... The breakfast room is adjoining all of the suites in the B&B, and we were invited to use the supplies in the evenings if desired, including the sitting area by the fireplace (though it was hot in June, so we didn't.) Free wi-fi for guests. Also, our hosts recommended several places to visit nearby - and they made reservations for us at a lovely restaurant in town the first night we arrived. (Called La Porta - delicious!)

There is also a beautiful, private garden and sitting area in the backyard where we enjoyed a bottle of wine most evenings. My ONLY spoiled "complaint," and I hesitate to even call it that, is that there was no air conditioning or fan. But, as I said, I'm spoiled! And being from Colorado, I just wasn't used to the humidity. But this is NOT a deal-breaker. I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat. Can't wait. You will love it!

I decided to book a room here after reading the reviews and seeing its pretty central to Pienza and Montepulciano. I believe this was a great find!! Below are some comments:

--Room: Prefect size for us! There's no heat or A/C which was fine for us in October (it stayed a perfect temperature inside for us). However in the summer I can imagine it gets hot/stuffy. The room was also very quiet. We didn't hear at neighbors at all which initially I thought we would.

--Shower: Defintely one of the best ones on our trip. It was spacious and had great pressure.

--Bed: Very comfortable with plenty of covers incase it got cold. However we did not need the extra blankets.

--Location: You're definitely out in the country! It's a 1 km walk to Monticchiello but it's a very small town. It was 10 minute drive to Pienza and 15-20 minute drive to Montepulciano. We loved Montepulciano and will stay there next time!! Its a beautiful town that is not as sleepy as Monticchiello.

--Breakfast: Delicious and made with love!! Very large mix of items and a delicious cappuccino!

--Hospitality: Excellent! You feel like your staying at grandma's house! Very cute :'). Carla's English is not that great but Francesca feels like a old time friend and has great English.

Overall I recommend staying here if you're looking to stay in Monticchiello. There's on 3 rooms so book way in advance!!
