La Casellina is the perfect location with views over a typical Tuscan valley to the hill town of Pienza and nearby to the delightful walled village of Monticchiello, a gem. It was a particular delight to watch the sunset over the hills and drink a toast to another perfect day from a bottle of Minos' wine. Host Mino is charming and can provide a wonderful breakfast. We felt guilty about not learning more Italian, as Mino obviously wanted to help with our inquiries, but our occasional failures to communicate always ended in laughter.
The only glitch was the absence of a washing machine. This would have been useful as we had been travelling for ten days and were staying for five nights.

We are just back from a 2 week holiday to la Casellina. The place is in one word fantastic. First of all the wonderful garden and the privacy you have there. The farm is still in operation but one site of the farm has two apartments. In front a big garden with roses and olive trees to make sure you have a place in the shadow when the sun is getting to much. From the garden there is a stunning view with every night the most beautiful sunsets. The apartments have a living room/kitchen a bed room with a big double bed and a bathroom. Comfortable but simple and clean. Outside you have a dinning table and last but not least a nice swimming pool. The family running the place are most friendly. Monticchiello is a small town down the hill. You can find a few good restaurants a bakery for fresh bread and a small alimentari. The town Pienza is by car about 10/15 min away and has many restaurants and a bigger supermarket.
La Casellina is a place for people that like peace and quiet with plenty nice tows to visit not far away. I can highly recommend this place.

We stayed 4 days in Off-Season in this wonderful apartment. Especially the sunsets with the fantastic view to Pienza and surroundings are very scenic. Short trips to Montepulciano, Pienza and Montalcino.

After 20 years in Pienza we moved this year to lovely little nearby Monticchiello. For us La Casellina was a new experience, and it was a very positive one. Our host Mino was very attentive and carefull. The view from the terrace is really stunnig, at every moment of the day or night. Rooms are clean, bed is good, the kitchen might need some more equipment. But that is because we love to cook so much. The road from Monticchiello to La Casellina and further to Montepulciano is one of the most photographed in whole Italy. We will certainly be back here. So Mino: alla prossima!!

Bit reluctant to review as we don’t want too many people to know about this wonderful oasis. Mino is an absolute star, he looks after us and couldn’t be more attentive. We have been staying here for a number of years and now thankfully retired have been able to have a prolonged stay of over 6 weeks. Needless to say we will have another 6 weeks next year.

Not the first time we visit la Casellina. I do not think there is a better place in this area. The location is perfect and the view stunning. 2 appartments, clean and comfortable. The outside area with a big garden and nice swimming pool are super and so relaxing. We come in this area more than 20 years but la casselina is the best we stayed in.

We have just spent 2 weeks in La Casellina and there is only one word to describe it: bliss. The apartment is simple but fully equipped and very comfortable. Luckily, the bedroom is quite cool even when it's 30+ degrees outside. The large garden, adorned with romantic roses, olive and plum trees is so idyllic, with enough comfy chairs to lie in the sun - or shadow. Then the pool, where we frequently took off some of the heat with our baby daughter. Because La Casellina has only two apartments, there is always lots of privacy and quietness - just what we needed. The views are spectacular; every sun set was gorgeous with the afternoon sun shining over Pienza and surroundings. There is a barbecue so that you can enjoy the panaroma whilst 'cooking' and sipping a wine.
But above all, what made La Casellina an unforgettable experience, was Mino and his family. They are absolutely lovely and very helpful with everything we possibly needed, making this holiday a truly unforgettable experience. It all sounds too perfect to be true, but I'm afraid there's nothing negative I can say about this place. I actually don't want to sound so positive as I don't want the big crowds flocking to La Casellina, but they deserve nothing but praise.

We had a lovely, relaxing time at La Casellina and the host, Mino, was most helpful and accommodating. The location is perfect for exploring a slice of authentic Tuscany with no not too many tourists. La Casellina is within biking distance (if you're fit and can handle the hills) from Monticchiello and Pienza. There is a very nice restaurant in Monticchiello called La Cantina - beautiful local food and wine here. We borrowed La Casellina's bikes and cycled to Pienza. It was a tough 12km but worth it - Pienza is a lovely, historic hill top town with great restaurants. La Cassellina's host, the very lovely Mino (who sports some beautiful shoes by the way) was most helpful, carting us to and from Montepulciano so we could go look around for one of the days. A car would be handy in a place like Tuscany but with a fantastic host like Mino plus bikes we managed to get by OK. The breakfast spreads in the morning, with homemade jam, delcious coffee, bread and prosciutto were also a highlight. We highly recommend La Casellina for your Tuscan experience.
