Stayed here over the weekend. Was welcomed and fully informed of what was on offer during our stay. Felt safe with COVID precautions put in place and our room was clean and tidy. Also had a break seal on the door so you knew no one had been in since it had been cleaned. We ordered room service, food came on time and was good, the beef brisket sandwich was tasty and the chicken tikka masala was also good. We also stayed for breakfast which was buffet style but the chef served you due to COVID which was perfect. Would definitely stay again. Only down side was the bed was too firm for my liking. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Hotel's Favourite
Arrived at around 7.30pm on a Friday evening. There was plenty of parking at the hotel and it was very quiet. Nice and easy check in, we left our card open so that we could charge things to the room and were given plenty of info about breakfast/ room service and the hotel amenities. Masks must be worn in all areas of the hotel at the moment and if you wish to use the pool/ gym/ bar this must be booked at reception. The room was lovely. Room 35 on the ground floor. Very spacious. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Large TV. Hair dryer and fridge provided. Bathroom was also massive with separate shower and bath. Plenty of towels and there was also air con/ heating so the room could be whatever temperature you wanted. View over the grounds was gorgeous. Breakfast was great. They were still getting to grips with the new way of working because of COVID. There was one area to queue for continental and then a separate section for hot items. So myself and partner did one each and met back at the table which worked well. Plenty of items to choose from cereal/ toast/ pastries/ fruit/ yoghurt/ full English. Apple and orange juice. Tea/ coffee and the hot chocolates were lovely. We also ordered room service one night, which came very quickly and was very good. We stayed here as we were going to alton towers- it's about a 30 minute drive from the hotel. All in all a great hotel, would definitely stay again.

Hotel looks great but service was awful. When booking there was a vague message about restricted services due to Covid, we expect that in current times. But less than 24 hours before arrival we get an email stating no restaurant and pool restricted to 1 hour. Firmly believe this is deliberately withheld at point of booking and communicated at the last possible moment when it’s to late to change to elsewhere. Companies such as Ryanair and Sports Direct have reputations for morals such as this but I expect better from Hilton. Tried to book our hour in the pool but told “it’s fully booked and you should have been more on the ball’. We were charged for a hotel that provides a restaurant and pool and these facilities were removed at short notice without any recompense. We tried to eat in the bar as the restaurant was closed, first meal came with no cutlery for 10 minutes so was cold. The other 3 meals came 20 minutes later, they were all incorrect so sent back, 30 minutes later they came back and they were all wrong again so we left without a meal. There was no apology from the restaurant, no follow up or any contact from them to feed our hungry children who had popcorn, chocolate and crisps for dinner on our first night away! Happy holidays Hilton!

Dear NeilFo99 We are so very sorry to hear that some elements of your stay did not meet with your expectations and please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience or disappointment caused to you. With regard to our facilities, we have tried to communicate as widely as possible to our guests via our website and pre-arrival information which of our facilities are operating and in line with Covid-19 regulations, we are currently having to operate booking systems for our pool, bar and restaurant in order to be able to manage capacity to ensure we adhere to social distancing guidelines. We are, of course, very sorry to hear about your poor dining experience and please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience and disappointment caused to you. This is not a true reflection of our usual high standards and I can assure you that your feedback has been communicated with our Executive Head Chef, so that this may be addressed with our Chef team, as we must ensure that we provide a consistently high standard of offering for all of our guests. My wife and I stayed here for Alton Towers, reception was fantastic, the rooms were squeaky clean and the breakfast was amaizing, the front of house staff member Vicky assisted us when there wasn't room inside, she brought us coffee and croissants prior to eating breakfast and was extremely polite. I would definitely return for a future visit.

Stayed here after a weekend at Alton Towers, the hotel was clean, easy to find and a lovely place to stay. The breakfast selection was very good too. Would definitely come back here, didn't realise it was a training ground for the England football team, gym and swimming pool both great too.
