A great lunch for two at a reasonable price considering the quality of the produce. Lovely position in the centre of Chavigny...Great decor and friendly service. Great value for money too! Would love to go back here on evening.

We arrived there having used the Logis brochure and we were not disappointed. I have to sayLogis has never really let us down. The welcome was great and we were booked in very quickly. The accomodation was fine if not a little dated but who wants to spend every waking hour fussing over the room? When we went into the...

I decided to stay here because I'd read that the restaurant was very good. I wasn't expecting great things of the accommodation (its not expensive) but I was still disappointed when I opened the door to my room after a long and very hot day cycling south from Tours. It was extremely warm and stuffy with no aircon. It didn't...

We stayed at the Lion d'Or on our journey to and from Carcassonne, a convenient stopping off point. It is a typical provincial French hotel where cuisine takes priority over accommodation. This meant that we had excellent fare on both nights, with menus to suit most budgets and a wine list at a price and quality to shame UK restaraunts....

We had a room in the annex which, as other reviewers have noted, is at the back of the hotel and rather dark and shabby, although the price probably reflects that. The bedroom had been recently decorated but the furniture was dated, as was the bathroom - 1970s? On the plus side, the staff were friendly enough (although I don't...

Stayed in this hotel for an extended week end visiting family in Chauvigny . Fairly basic accomadation, that could do with an up grade. Staff were very friendly, although some had very little English. We got by with our little bit of French. Invited family and friends to the restaurant one night and the food was absolutely amazing. Would be...

This was a last minute booking and the location was convenient for an overnight stay. The Hotel is in need of updating and we did not get a good night's sleep. However, the restaurant was excellent. We needed a ground floor room and were placed in the annex - right next to the security gate and where the very early...

We stayed here for one night on our way down towards Sarlat. The hotel is located right in the middle of the town & has parking for guests around the back. The room we stayed in was quiet dated but the bed was comfortable but firm with a bathroom which had no shower, just a bath. However the hotel has...

The Hotel Lion d'Or is situated in the centre of the newer town mainly on the right bank of the major Loire tributary la Vienne. The Hotel is comfortable and possesses a decent restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The rooms are clean and well appointed. and the food good. This is a Logis de France and there is private...

We thought about staying high up in the medieval city of Chauvigny but were delighted to find this lively little Logis hotel on the Main Street, le rue de Marché, in the village below only 30m from one of the many paths leading up to the old city. And being in this area meant we had easy access to restaurants,...
