Nice heritage property surrounded by pine trees. We stayed in a cottage which was clean, service was good and the approachability is also nice. The children were very happy to see maharani suite and the log hut. The interiors of the palace are grand and exclusive.
Recently visited this palace after going through reviews but believe me this is the worst palace i have seen till date. There is entry fee of Rs. 100/per head and we asked at gate how much time is needed to cover the palace and guard said 10-15 minutes hardly. While reaching to palace inside road is very bad, infact chail outside road is far better than palace inside road . In palace there is one big hall for visitors in which one table & 3-4 chairs and 3-4 big vasses. I was so shocked & disappointed after reaching we had wasted 3 hrs to reach the palace and expected some old furnitures, museum or architecture but nothing was there. It is completely waste of money & time. Never recommend to see this place, better to go to shimla mall road or any other place.
This place is any day and any time better without any doubt. This place does not require any reviews as it will always be on top of any traveler whoever visited them once. ** Checked in on 14-Feb 21 and booked rajkumari suit. Rooms are spacious and clean. Food quality was ok not as great but its ok. ** Front office and support staff is courteous and polite. Overall nice & comfortable stay.
* This iconic heritage property was built by HH Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh ji in the year 1891. * It is now owned & managed by HPTDC. * This heritage property is located in the lush green hills of Chail surrounded by pine trees. * The freshness in the air relaxes your body, mind & soul and you will feel rejuvenated. * The property consists of the main palace building, log huts, lush green forest, restaurant(king's hall) & the bar. * The lobby area is quite impressive as various portraits of Maharajas are mounted on the walls with antique piano lying at one corner. * The floor is well carpeted. * The rooms are massive with high ceilings, floor carpet, high doors, glass windows(overlooking the forest), bathtub (placed majestically in antique bathroom). * The furniture(sofas, beds, chairs, mirrors etc) make you feel like you are some king of an empire. * The food & drinks are to die for. * The staff is very polite & well behaved.…
Chail Palace is one of the palaces which are very nicely maintained by the Government. Restaurant food is great. Though the Palace itself is not so big, But the palace premises has cottages and huts with nice amenities to stay at reasonable prices. Service is also good. Perfect place for a getaway in peaceful and clean environment.
