I was a resident at the Villa Sturzo for three months. Everyone was absolutely fun and accommodating for this travelling American. I Truly had an enjoyable experience staying there. The staff and the hotel were great. My family and I are so appreciative of everyone for the education they given me regarding the Sicilian way and I wouldn’t change a thing. If I happen to return to the Caltagirone, Sicily, The Sturzo will be my home again. “grazie a tutti “ Michael in Texas

Large rooms with queen and a single bed. Plain decor, much like a dorm room. Used to be a monastery so no luxury! Bath is small but adequate with plenty of hot water. Staff is kind and helpful. Wifi is spotty but in the lobby just fine. Location is outside town so walking to center of town is about 2 miles, but sidewalks are good and area is safe. Breakfast is limited but adequate, price was excellent. Ask cab driver the cost of the trip before you get in.

Stayed for a few days under challenging circumstances after a car accident. Staff very helpful, going to considerable lengths to assist with fallout. Accom comfortable & although food limited, what we got courtesy of Ciro the chef, (& resident humorist) was excellent.

The only drawback to staying at the Villa Sturzo is that you really need a car. The hotel is located outside of the beautiful town of Caltagirone. The building was once a seminary, and now the hotel takes up more than half of the property; the other still a working seminary. The lobby and restaurants are tastefully decorated. The guest room are large, airy, but spartan; although they are certainly comfortable. The real treat is the dining room. The cuisine is local Sicilian, very beautifully prepared under the attentive eyes of the chef who is a real presence during the mealtime. The service is attentive and the local wine is delicious. It's certainly worth the adventure.
