Nice family-camping by Skibotn River. A perfect place for watching Aurora, because of little light pollution and a very dry climate. The campsite has 9 cabins. Some of the cabins have 2-3 bedrooms, livingroom with TV, bath and fully equipped kitchen. Free WiFi on the campsite and in every cabin. We have open all the year and it's a grocery store just 2 km from the campsite. Welcome!

I spent one night in a simple cabin in early September. The campground is quite big, but quiet in the night. Very friendly owner, beautiful landscape. The cabin was comfortable enough, not far from the service building. Wifi worked fine inside the cabin.

Best camp site in Skibotn with tent, awesome location and view to the surrounding mountains. Located next to the river, where you can go take an icy dip in to the freezing Arctic Ocean from the barrel sauna on the beach. Very nice personnel and good value! 5/5

This is a mixed review, something was good and something was definitely not good. Last February we stayed at Strandbu Camping for two nights at cabin 7, the location is OK and easy to find. Visiting the area of Lyngenfjord is quite easy even with roads in winter conditions. Every morning we could spot a moose not so far from the cabin and we also saw several eagles in the surroundings. Beds, furniture and shower were OK but the wc was not, almost unusable for any adult. The first morning our cabin was affected by a blackout due to an unknown reason, in the evening of the same day the electric heater stopped to work, with -20°C outside. The person who arrived to collect the payment was unable to fix the heater and he told us to "ask the boss". We phoned and emailed the maintainer but we are still waiting an answer. Not sure whether I will stay again or not, unfortunately there are no other options.

pricing was fairly good and amenities nice. a bit annoying that we got stuck in a hut without shower, but you cant win them all. the showers are operated by 10kr bits so be sure to bring a stock if you are booked into one of the cheaper huts with no shower.
lovely surroundings and very helpful staff - cannot say enough about how helpful the staff were. i had several requests from changing bedding to polyester to help with using the facilities and each one was handled perfectly. i would recommend this place to anyone and i will surely be back!

Stayed here for one night as part of an organised tour of Scandinavia in June 2014.
We were allocated cabins and 6 of us shared one of the larger ones. We had one bedroom with 2 bunk beds, then another with a double bed. There was a large lounge, with a sofa, flat screen TV, good sized dining table and chairs, large wood burner and a small kitchen. The furniture was all in good condition and the beds were really comfortable.
Our cabin had its own bathroom which was compact, with a toilet, sink and shower unit. There was plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The other cabins that the rest of the group had didn't have bathrooms so they used the bathrooms and showers in the ablutions block by reception - these were relatively new and in good condition. The block also had a good sized sauna in which our group used before and after a quick dip in the nearby river. There was wifi signal by the reception area and the speed was good.
The scenery around the site is amazing - we used the fire pit down by the river to toast marshmallows and skimmed some stones late into the night thanks to the midnight sun. It's a great place just to get away from it all.
