Stayed for a couple of nights to spend some quality family time together. The owners..and her mum...were friendly, welcoming, attentive but not over bearing. The room was more than comfortable and made all 3 of us feel luxurious, warm and relaxed. The breakfast kept us all full u

Quite simply the best B&B in East Devon. Peter and Julie are great hosts, the rooms are very comfortable and the the breakfasts are amazing with plenty of choice. Pebbles is but a few yards from the seafront and the restaurants and cafes in Seaton.

Peter & Linda, thank you kindly for your lovely review. We enjoyed having you both as guests for 3 nights. You certainly filled your time with trips out and about. Your breakfasts comments are much appreciated. We do hope to see you both return. Peter & Julie.

Location is good. Room was ok, but not en suite, which reminds me of my younger days spent in backpacker hostels. Breakfast was ok. Stay was tainted by the lack of flexibility for check in times. There was a party of four of us, however one could not stay as she was not getting d

Andrew you booked into my establishment along with two others thinking you were booking Pebbles B&B in Budleigh Salterton, your mistake not mine. One of your other party wanted to check in here at approximately midnight two hours after check in closes and you were all politely told this was not an option. One of your party even suggested if they arrived before 22.00 hrs then they could let the others in at midnight or just after. I explained that this was not possible as I need to be present in order for the guests to sign in and register which is a Legal requirement, plus it would mean the likelihood of disturbing our other guests. You all did eventually arrive before 22.00 hrs and were checked in by myself in the proper manner. The day before you all checked in I went the extra mile by phoning you to let you know that trains from London were cancelled due to a strike and this is why the fourth person in your party could not fulfil the booking and did not stay here. There are always Terms and Conditions to any booking and you all it seems did not read them and this is why you felt I was being awkward with you all, I was not, i was just operating the Terms and Conditions. I did actually show concern for your partner who was on crutches through an accident playing netball, I explained your room was on the top floor and asked if your partner would manage the stairs and that the room was not en-suite. Of course you would have already known this if you had bothered to read the room description in the booking details. It seems you did not, clearly not my fault. You were all booked for two nights. When in the morning you all came for breakfast for which I have been awarded by Enjoy England their Breakfast Award, you all had a Full English plus starters from the buffet and left not one morsel on your plates, so I have to disagree by your comment saying breakfast was ok, my breakfasts according to other reviews are excellent. At breakfast you all told me you wanted to check out as you had found a B&B nearer to the place where you were all attending a wedding that day, you also told me you would pay for two nights even though you had stayed only one night. Well you would have to anyway as that is in the Terms and Conditions also that you had not familiarised yourselves with. Although check out time here is 10,30am you asked would it be possible to check out at 11.00am as you all wanted to have a shower, it seems it did not cross your minds to get up earlier to shower, I duly agreed to allow this knowing you were attending a wedding, so I was helpful and concerned you left refreshed even though it put our work back by one hour in getting the rooms cleaned, but of course that is our problem is it not. Once you had all departed I went to the room you had and saw you and your partner had left the room very messy and that there were wet towels left on our bed and chairs, as their was no en-suite in your room but just along the passage I found this aggravating as it showed me you seemed to have no respect for our property, I have since made a charge to your account for the clearing of the mess and the wet towels on the bed and upholstered chairs, I can do this as it clearly states in the Welcome book in the room which it seems escaped your notice. On your departure I thanked you all and collected from you the free car park passes I issue to all guests. In summary, you all booked the wrong B&B mistaking us for another with a similar name 20 miles from us. You say you are amazed our B&B has as you say 241 excellent reviews, well that is because we do and other guests book the right B&B and they also read the room descriptions and the Terms and Conditions. I think it sad that some guests like your party feel you have to go on to Trip Advisor to vent your issues when the issues were caused by yourselves, very unfair but I will not lose sleep over your review. Potential guests will see through your review I am sure. Come and see us again but make sure you book the correct place, we would like you all to return. Best Regards, Your Host, Peter.

Lauren & Beccy, it was a pleasure having you both stay at Pebbles. Yes we accommodated you but you both accommodated us as we needed to do some quick repairs to your room while you were out. Your comments mean a lot to us and by them we can see you enjoyed your time with us at Pebbles. We are waiting for next year when as you said to us you will return. Till then take care. Peter & Julie.

It has come up as pet friendly...is this so? Is the price really the same for single occupancy as double? Many thanks
Sorry we do not accept pets anymore after a bad experience.
