Just spent a night here on the DB&B offer and an excellent stay it proved to be. The tone was set on arrival by a genuinely warm welcome which pervaded throughout the visit. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite (thank you Talbot) and I must say the room was outstanding, very large, beautifully decorated and equipped. Both dinner and...

Just returned from a weekend stay at The Talbot Hotel, what a charming hotel, staff are all extremely friendly and attentive. We booked the Dinner, bed and breakfast option, the evening menu had something for everyone with a choice of around 6 starters and 6 mains. The restaurant is intimate and romantic and our food was beautifully presented. The wine list...

After looking forward to our visit to the Talbot so much, the actual event felt vaguely disappointing. Service was good and attentive. The room is most pleasant although its a shame that there is no view out over the vale. The principal issue was the starters. My wife had terrine. There seemed to be a large portion of terrine but...

Dear lois17 Thank you for taking the time to write a review on TripAdvisor. I appreciate you comments with regards to the food in the Brasserie and agree that the Tomato Tartlet is not right for a Brasserie menu and have removed this from the menu, I also apologise for burnt toast and undercooked fish, this is not acceptable and...

We had planned to stay for 2 nights but then decided to add a third, which had to be in a different room, so we saw both the higher level room and a more basic one. The rooms are lovely, well-appointed and modern. The showers and baths work well. Towelling dressing gowns provided. Good quality tea and coffee are provided....

I adore this hotel. It has been in the same family for 300 years and has recently been renovated and, what a good job they've made of it! It offers everything I love, country house decor, log fires, cream teas, great bathrooms, lovely views and friendly staff. Best of all, it is dog friendly. Anyone visiting Malton should pop in...

We stayed for one night with a TravelZoo deal, which turned out to be a very good way to do it. We've stayed here before the major re-furb, and I watched the decline of the once premier hotel in Malton with some anguish. However, all is now well, it's firmly at the top of the tree again. No expense has...

My husband and I have just returned from a short break at The Talbot Hotel, I don't know were to start it was amazing !!! From the first minute to the last, the building itself is beautiful, attention to detail stunning but it manages to keep a homely welcoming feel.
