Myself and a friend called in after visiting a local Christmas fair. We were seated and chose our drinks. We both opted for the larger plates. Which is an extra £2. Well worth it. The beef was cooked to perfection. And so was the turkey. In all there was 7 selections of veg. We will certainly be visiting again to...

We did a Christmas Party Night. It was awful. Food was terrible. Really terrible. Cutlery was dirty. Drinks came in dirty glasses. Tap water on the table. The bar area stank of sick. It wasn't a pleasant experience at all. Poor management is all I can put it down to. Sorry Lion and Swan. I don't like leaving bad reviews,...

If I were being generous I'd say this hotel needs a deep clean and the staff need a class in customer service. In reality, the place needs a complete renovation as its run down, tatty and worst of all, its filthy. Not only did the staff completely mess up our booking which meant I got a tiny box room when...

I've not stayed but met friends here several times for drinks. This is an old, traditional inn in the middle of the town. The food, on the one occasion I tried, was fine and the service was attentive. My bean burger was tasty and my partner's steak was good. Surprised by the mixed reviews as the staff seem pleasant and...

Check in was interesting as the key to my room was lost! Good size room with ok bathroom, though dated. Wifi wouldn't work which was very frustrating. Lighting poor if you have to work. Breakfast was fine though buffet was limited. Evening meals good quality but service was slow.

Myself and my family visited here after pondering different options in Congleton. I was a bit unsure at first as the website said that the roast dinners stopped at 17:00 but after a very quick phone call the manager said that they keep them going. So we were greeted by the front of house manager who seated us and bought...

Stayed last night for a friends 40th Birthday Celebrations. Lovely building, several staff lacked in customer service. Stayed in a family room which was lovely and clean, but the mattresses on the bunk beds very awful, could feel the springs underneath. Breakfast buffet made up for this thou, the girls in the morning were brilliant and helpful. Shame management do...
