This hotel is situated in the perfect location to stage a hike of La Caravelle. The hotel is spotless and air conditioned with wide balconies overlooking the treetops, flowers and ocean! The family owned/operated facility also features a restaurant with a wonderful and absolutely delicious menu that reflects the chef's love for cooking and use of local ingredients in a...

We returned here for the third time and intend to come back for a longer stay next year. Simple rooms with perfect sea view balconies each including a kitchenette. Despite all the wonderful attractions of the island it is hard to leave that balcony. Very reasonably priced and located far from mass tourism. The restaurant is superb. Understand this is...

Chef Jean-Paul Mahler, wife Helene, son Bastien and daughter in law Geraldine are preserving traditional French cuisine at it's best in the far reaches of the environmental preservation area of the Caravelle Peninsula in Martinique, just outside the small fishing village of Tartane. The hotel itself is simple, meticulously clean, and is situated on a hillside overlooking the bay of...

As forecast by Tripadvisor, it was not easy to check in, reception closed, and we had to phone for help, which is a pain if on a British mobile number. The Wifi isn't easy either, key hard to get and only in reception. Location overlooking excellent bay, on beautiful peninsula - brilliant, IF you can manage a lot of steep...

We stayed here for a week in January. The rooms are very basic and the services offered are minimal - occasional Internet services really being the only one. The restaurant on site is very special and we enjoyed a few meals here. It is definitely worth visiting. We had a couple of travel issues and the staff at the hotel...

Staying at the hotel you are treated as if you are a plague and not a guest. We stayed there for 5 nights as a group. My room had pubic hair on the floor in the bathroom from the guests before and the cleaning people managed to move them from one end to the other in the bathroom. Cobwebs on...

We stayed in this hotel 3 nights at the beginning of January. We decided to book a room there as the restaurant is really well rated and it's difficult (quite impossible) to have a meal in this restaurant without a reservation if you are not staying there. Honestly we were a little bit worried as the travellers seemed not very...

this is just a 2 star hotel - normally we stay in 4-5* and we were really amazed! They just miss 2 more stars because they are small and there is no pool, but caravelle semi-island has nice beaches 2 minutes (l etang) to walk. the restaurant is worth a Michelin star - so much live for the details, haute...

A family run 3 star hotel located on a beautiful quiet peninsula. Had a self catering studio (Rooms 6-12 have best views). Rooms comfortable if a little tired, but cleaned to a good standard every day. Nice private shady spacious balcony. (Lower studios have more sun-bathing space if you prefer that.) Fine sea views. Responsive service from manager Bastien, who...

I could write a very long manifesto on this hotel and their lack of hospitable and functional customer service. But, I will *try* to keep this brief-- I'm not sure if I can. We had booked directly with the staff for our June stay in February and had worked out all our details for arrival. They had been coridal and...
