What a week me and my boyfriend had at Electra Palace! After reading a few negative reviews I was apprehensive about a few elements of the holiday and wasn’t sure what to expect. However this hotel exceeded both of our expectations! The hotel itself was super clean and the staff were so polite and friendly, especially the bar staff, they made us feel welcome and always engaged in friendly conversations. Our room was kept very clean, with the floors washed and fresh towels everyday. The food was really good, no baked beans at breakfast but that’s my only negative! They had a place called Sugar Cube incase you miss breakfast where you can get waffles, pancakes etc and they do the best ice cream! There is the buffet lunch and dinner but also an Italian and Greek option for lunch which was incredible and an Asian restaurant for dinner for one visit which was also nice. The drinks and alcohol also are a massive plus, the bar list is huge with branded alcohol like Aperol Spritz, Baileys and Pimms! Best hotel for drinks Iv ever stayed in, we would have spent a fortune paying for all the drinks we drunk! There is lots of shops and restaurants a 5 minute walk outside of the hotel if you did want to venture out, it was fairly quiet but I guess October is out of season, I can imagine in the summer it’s busier with more of a atmosphere! The beach is nice, lots of wind surfers to watch, not much sand and is mainly stony but not the end of the world, lots of sunbeds and different places to sit on the beach, decking and around the pool which was really nice. I saw a few reviews about the noise of the aeroplanes going over, with the airport only 15 minutes away, what do people expect?? However the noise or visibility of them did not bother me or my boyfriend at all and I wouldn’t let this put you off booking this amazing hotel! There is nothing negative I can say, however I can’t recommend this hotel enough, I don’t usually go back to hotels twice but I think I would with this one :)

Stayed here for two weeks in September. Was definitely worth the extra expense and hassle of tests and paperwork to get away. Arrived late Saturday night to a friendly welcome and a quick check in. Stayed in room 518 which had a lovely pool view. Room was spotlessly clean, lovely comfortable bed, excellent shower and had everything you needed. Room was cleaned and towels were changed every day. Food in the main buffet was lovely. We booked the Asian for one night which was excellent, but you need to book early in the holiday to get a table. The Italian had delicious pizzas at lunchtime. Every Tuesday lunchtime there was a street food festival by the pool. The food there was lovely. Drinks were good, plenty of branded spirits available, some evenings there was a queue but you just need a bit of patience. Would have been nice if the beach bar was open later than sunset, which this time of the year is about 7.15. Hotel is compact with the pool on one side and beach on the other with plenty of sunbeds in both areas. Beach is pebbly so you will need sea shoes. Staff were all very friendly and worked extremely hard day and night. There is a minibus that can be booked online, details on reception, that goes into Rhodes town regularly for only €7 per person return. Really good service, bus was on time and very helpful and friendly driver. The hotel is on the flight path to the airport and because the hotel is so close, only 15 transfer time, they are quite low. It didn't bother us and we enjoyed watching them. Little shop on site selling the usual essentials and gifts, was very reasonably priced. The only downside of this hotel was the lack of entertainment in the evening, which we understand was due to the COVID restrictions. We went to the Sports bar opposite a few evenings where they show lots of different sports from all over the world and play good music. We had a fantastic holiday and would love to go back in the future.

So my partner and I have just returned from a week here booked with Tui. Firstly we arrived at 10pm to a cold unwelcoming reception. We asked if there was any snacks or somewhere we could grab a quick bite to eat but we’re told no. This surprised me as other reviews on here suggest food was made available to them upon arrival after 10pm. Anyway we were given a map of the hotel and restaurant opening hours and handed our key cards. No information about how to find our room or a Porter to help with our cases. When we arrived at the room it was small with a tiny bathroom. The shower above the bath is too low, I’m 5 feet 6 and only could just stand under it. My partner is over 6 foot & found this really difficult. Yes it contained everything we needed but was very small and compact. After leaving our bags we made our way out of the hotel to The Rainbow Bar, which is directly opposite the hotel entrance. We were greeted warmly and ordered drinks and snacks as we were hungry after travelling all day and evening. In summary, the restaurants were all good, the Greek and the outdoor BBQ, were the best. We weren’t able to book the Asian but did manage to book the Italian. What was annoying is that there was no information about how to book the a la cartes. We tried to book via the app and via reception but we’re told to book at the buffet restaurant when open. This needs to be communicated better as by the time we’d been told this we struggled to get booked in any. The cleaners were really good, however they need to be kindly asked to not have loud conversations with each other in the corridors before 7am. We were woken a few times with their chattering. The hotel is definitely not a 5 star, it’s dated and needs a revamp along with new sun loungers and parasols which are looking rather dated. The COVID measures are good, masks are to be worn inside the hotel and plenty of hand sanitizer is available. The bars don’t have any music or atmosphere and you have to queue to be served, sometimes with about 10 people in front on an evening which definitely isn’t 5 star. The sugar cube coffee shop is lovely, good food and waiter service, which we used daily for a lovely latte and cookie. The area around the hotel is very scruffy, graffiti, dog poo, unfinished and dilapidated buildings. The beach is pebble but also looks dated and scruffy. We went to Rhodes town for the day/evening via taxi (14 euros one way) and loved it. Lots to do, old and new town and a great deal to see and do. All in all I wouldn’t recommend the Electra Palace, we’ve stayed in much better 4 and 5 stars via Tui. I would say the staff work really hard and do a good job but more staff is required to give a more attentive service and provide some evening entertainment (of which there was none). I did request a quiet room before booking but other guests did make a lot of noise, banging doors, clattering about and asked to be moved but was met with a grunt and unhelpful ‘maybe’ from reception. The only positive was the weather was lovely.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room which appear to be quieter. Go to Rhodes Town.

This was our 4th visit to the Electra palace & were happy to find that apart from some covid restrictions nothing had changed However as a 4 star hotel we were not pleased to have to join queues to get a drink! Our perception was lack of staff but still unacceptable Secondly I was (quite rightly) told off for forgetting my mask at the bar, only to see several people being served without a mask for the rest of our stay No consistency!!

Was unsure of this hotel because of some of the negative reviews however need not have worried The hotel is kept spotlessly clean and we found the food as varied as is possible and we used both the options of the Greek and Asian restaurants for a change Must give a special mention to a few of the staff Firstly Elsa in the Sugar Cube was so friendly and efficient had a crepe or toastie there most days and the ice cream was amazing The beach bar was a lovely place to watch sunset made special by the lovely Larry (immediately!) Such a character Finally the animation team especially Emma who constantly had a smile on her face and went out of her way to talk to everyone and encourage them to join in the daytime activities She made the aqua aerobics such fun Would recommend this hotel
