Just read some bad reviews on the vilamar I can not belive what I was reading the place is spotless the staff are very layed back (in a good way) all ways helpful and easy to have a conversation with about anything. It was very very quiet. The food was good and breakfast was sufficient I could go on. But we are booking again 👍👍👍👍

Stayed here the lat week of April for 3 nights. Arrived late and we where greeted by a polite young male on reception who gave us all the information we needed and showed us to our room. The room was a clean, large and equipped with everything that we needed. The hotel is beautiful. Grounds well kept, 2 pools cleaned everyday and a beautiful view of luz. We never stayed in the hotel much as we wanted to explore but we ate breakfast there the first morning which was lovely and good value for money and had a few drinks in the bar in the evenings (the cocktails where delicious) and again great value for money.. The bar man was very polite and friendly. Would definitely recommend this for a peaceful relaxing holiday. Only a 5 minute walk from a spar shop for any bits and bobs and a 10 minute walk from the beach where the beautiful beach is and plents of restaurants and shops..Going to book again for September

Our last day at the Vilamar after a 10 night stay. The hotel is amazing so much so we brought our family with us after a holiday pre covid as a couple. If you book here you won’t be disappointed the rooms are spotless and the food is great. The beach is within a 15 minute walk and the nearest town is a short bus ride away. The staff here are very helpful and welcoming. All members of our party plan to visit again.

My husband and I have just returned home after spending 6 nights in Vilamar. We couldn't fault the hotel at all. Filipe, Nuno & Sandro were wonderful, attentive and could not have been more welcoming. We were out and about the majority of the time but whenever we returned we were greeted with a friendly face (or a stand-in referee for a game of Connect Four at the bar!)
The gardens/pool area is perfect to relax in. Our room was cleaned & freshly laundered every day.
The hotel is a short walk from the town centre which hosts a range of wonderful restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and the beautiful sea front. The larger town of Lagos is around 10 minutes away, which is much busier than Luz, with a large marina, shops, historic architecture & plenty of options for food and drinks. We used Uber to get around, as they were so frequent and inexpensive.
We had a fantastic holiday & look forward to returning again very soon!

My mum, daughter & I absolutely loved staying here. It’s calm, relaxed & spacious. The family & Luno are nothing but hospitable. Great Galloa (milky coffee) so very clean, the bed sheets are soft & smell lovely. Brazilian cleaner was sweet & we loved the room, bright & airy. Powerful aircon (not that we used much as room 42 was cool enough) & Wi-Fi is excellent!!! Fridge is cold & helpful to store essentials. Brekkie is good. Walk down hill to spar for your supplies, walk back up is hard but think of the exercise, hee!! 20 mins both ways. Beautiful Burgau just down the road, definitely worth going. Alice’s ice cream in Sagres. So much to see, it’s an absolute dream. My sister lives close & the family allowed them to pop back & for, we did discuss first. I love Portugal all the more because of this place ❤️

It's just fabulous. Couldn't fault the hotel, the friendliness of all who worked there, their helpfulness, and the well-kept grounds.

There's a really relaxed vibe about the hotel, and it's very close to Praia da Luz, but very quiet. There's a small pool area and a snack bar which stays open until 23:00. It does breakfast and serves soft and alcoholic drinks.

We hope to go back next year, it was that good.

A very clean, quiet and very friendly family run hotel not to far from centre of luz. Stayed here for 8 days and it was so relaxing. A decent size pool, 2.2m at one end, lots of loungers for everyone. Free WiFi all around the hotel. Rooms cleaned daily with fresh bedding and great free air-conditioning. Decent snacks and super bock on tap. Luno (waiter) very friendly and witty, joking all day. Would 100% stay here against, loved our time here. Met some lovely people here too

Currently here on a little break with the husband. And can't fault it. It's a small quiet hotel, with a beautiful pool and gardens. Rooms are clean and all the staff are friendly. Especially nuno he runs the restaurant/bar and is such a lovely man. Always has a smile on his face and never to busy to chat and make sure you have what you need. This place is perfect for a relaxing get away.

Nicely located and extremely clean hotel at a very reasonable price. Customer service was excellent by both Nunu in restaurant and Phillipe on reception.
Rooms very spacious with decent fridge and free wifi. Easy to park outside. All in all a lovely little stay.
Many thanks.

Good afternoon. Most of the information you require is on our website: vilamar-luz dot kom with C. Prices for meals vary between 5,00 Euros and 15,00 Euros, depending on if you pick a snack or a typical portuguese cuisine dish. Drinks vary between 1,00 Euros and 8,00 Euros, depending if you order a water or the most elaborate cocktail. Regards, Vilamar Team.
Answer from Hotel V
Hi there! The bus stop is very close to the hotel, so that won't be a problem. The bus is serving the working community and the student community so it is fairly more often during the week than on weekends. The hotel has time tables translated to english, as on the website you can only see it in portuguese: aonda.pt (line 4 for our line) The buses don't drive late at night apart from July and August. Kind regards, Vilamar Team.

What is the deposit up front and do you have to pay in cash?
Answer from Sandro C
Lagos, Portugal
Good afternoon, There are no deposits for damage charged by the hotel. Beware that you have read that on the hotel page as that seems like the standard procedure for a property rental not a hotel reservation. Kind regards, Vilamar Team.
