We booked this hotel last minute after our Turkey holiday got cancelled. It's a truly beautiful hotel, although I am not sure if we'd have liked it in the height of season as the beach area was quite small. It's a very tranquil hotel. We chose not to go to the spa as the prices were really rather high (higher than you'd get in London). The food is without doubt the best we've ever had on a hotel buffet - highly recommend the moussaka! Make sure you get the drinks package, or otherwise buy booze from the hotel shop. The drinks were expensive and the cocktails were just not worth having - I ordered a French 75 which tasted like Tequila! If I'd spent 15E on it I'd have been rather annoyed. It can be a little difficult to get drinks in the evening if you rely on table service, we usually found it easier to order at the bar. Most of the staff were lovely - big shout out to Niki who made sure that we were well looked after when ordering at the bar. Overall I think we would return - Corfu is a truly beautiful island and this hotel is perfect if you want a relaxing break.…
It’s a beautiful, large hotel. Beautiful gardens, a great pool, a lovely restaurant are that encompasses the pool. I absolutely loved the food, we opted for half board which was great! It’s a closed beach for the hotel with a lift 🛗 🏖 so we it’s like having a private beach 🏝. You can have very cheap boat 🚣♀️ rides to another beach. The room is great, very clean and spacious. The only negative thing was there are a lot of wasps around and the live music 🎶 stays up until late after midnight in case if you want to have an early night! But the rest is fabulous! I really recommend it. They have busses 🚌 that go often to Corfu town. They have a store 🏬 inside the hotel which is very good! Abd the staff is very welcoming and charming.
Wonderful all round! Only couples, no kids no hen or stag do’s, therefore tranquil and relaxing. Hotel spotlessly clean, food plentiful and varied albeit tepid. O/s pool freezing...but it was Oct! Staff very helpful and kind. Special shouts out to Anna-Marie in the restaurant, Sophia, head of house and of course kristina, cocktail waitress. Would return in a heartbeat 💖
We booked this 2 days before leaving due to our holiday cancellation. What a happy and blessed change of plan it turned out to be. Our room (703) had a breath taking view. It is so quiet especially with nobody above or below you. The bed is incredibly comfortable. The best hotel sleep for me anywhere so far. There are so many places to sit in this hotel for sunbathing, relaxing, eating. I can't imagine there would be a room here without an excellent view. The food is very good...the only improvement would be if it were hotter. The staff are all really friendly, polite and cheerful and reception is very efficient and responsive. I have to give a very special mention to the gentleman at the beach who attends to the sunbeds etc. He impacted us greatly. I have never witnessed anybody be more attentive, caring or honouring in their work. He treated us like royalty...and everyone else too. We ordered food from the neighbouring beach bar ( unbelievably good aubergine dip!) and he even offered to take our tray back! He placed stones on the towels whenever we left the beds when it was windy and straightened everything for our return. We will never forget his work ethic or his noble character. We would definitely recommend this resort. It is only 25 mins from Corfu old town and hence the airport. We rented a Fiat 500 convertible from the hotel and explored the island...worth every penny. We rented a speedboat too at the beach and it was fantastic. Wonderful couple who owned the boats. We loved it at the Grand Med and absolutely adore Corfu. Can't wait to return.…
We booked this as many others did as a last minute job after Turkey was cancelled at the last moment. Overall we had a really good week and the weather even early October was very kind to us. PLUS: * Top plus has to go to the staff. Throughout the hotel they were nothing short of fantastic. Special mentions to Nikos (restaurant) and Periklis (pool area). * Thanks to Sofia at Guest Relations who on request gave us a room at the top due to my wife's heart issues...no climbing all those steps....although the lift worked fine all the time we were there. * Covid precautions were at a very high standard and no one should have any fears on that account. * Food was very good quality even for a picky eater lie myself. Always hot and plentiful although the Vegetarian/Vegan options were a little limited. *Rooms were of a good size and clean but oh that shower! Yes it is powerful but who designed that shower cubicle should have realised that a 10mm drop and a door that leaves a gap at the bottom will always flood out(room121) * Fresh towels every day *Beach bar food and drinks were great and a wonderful place to sit especially late afternoon. MINUS: * We did have to wait 3 hours to check in as our room had been used as a late check out room by departing guests. sorry but that is not my fault and I should not have had to wait 3 hours. And that was all. Now that Tui Rep (Claire Monique). * Regarding waiting for 3 hours to check in she said it was just "one of those things, and it states rooms are ready from 3;00". NO IT DOES NOT. Fob off #1. * Having been random Covid tested at the airport I did ask her what would be the protocol in unlikely event I was positive. She explained in some detail and a general conversation took place about who we knew who had tested positive. (This is at 09:30am) I mentioned that our son had tested positive (no date given..no information if we had been in contact or even when.....where he even lived [could have been Australia for all she knew}. At 7:00pm she calls the room and tells me that we have to self isolate because our son had tested positive. Me: Do you know when? - NO Do you know when we last saw him? - NO Do you know where in the world he lives? - NO Why has it taken you almost 10 hours to tell us what you were doing? - SILENCE "Well its protocol" she claimed and that was that. The hotel staff went above and beyond in the circumstances providing meals and food very promptly and checking on our welfare.Thank you. After 24 hours sat in the room we were allowed to resume our holiday by the manager even though Claire told us we must not go out until we had a definite negative result. Did Claire contact us during that 24 hours? -NO Did Claire contact us again before we went home - NO All fairness to TUI who after receiving my complain sent a £200 voucher for the unnecessary inconvenience and believed my version as Claire had not even reported it as "Protocol" demanded. The hotel were 1st class and I cannot thank them enough for their care and service with special mention to Leonardis. I would definitely return without question for a peaceful break.…
