We were there for a family celebration and we had a great time, the staff was amazing, we travelled with our 14 month old son and everyone made friends with him. If we have the chance we will go back!
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 days while visiting friends and it exceeded our expectations! The room and view were amazing, staff was so nice and helpful, and the breakfast was awesome! The hotel provided towels for the beach and pool and the beach was a short well-marked walk into the town. 10 out of 10 and would go back in a heartbeat! …
We walked into the room and were immediately delighted by the magnificent view. The amenities and restaurants were wonderful. I was initially afraid that it was far from the beach, but it was just a few minutes walk and the pathway is delightful. The beach shuttle was also convenient. We were given excellent service, especially with our 11-month-old daughter. The staff really went out of their way to make us comfortable. Our stay here was a highlight of our trip to beautiful Portugal. …
Aesthetically pleasing but poorly designed for a hotel - ironically this is part of the ‘design hotels’ group collection! Acoustics terrible; stone paved corridors & marble floors in the suite, heavy roller door on shower, clunky cupboard doors, all meant that without ear plugs you’ll be woken early and kept up late by slamming, rumbling, clip clopping and furniture scraping! We were mortified on checking out early morning that our suitcases sounded like a jumbo rumbling down the runway outside everyone’s bedroom doors. That was us - sorry! However, there is the most comfortable, enormous bed, quality bedding and beautiful decor in the room & the turn-down service and little extras left in the room were most appreciated. The power shower was also amazing!!! but the bathroom itself was very cramped, just a small, single sink and a loo, with almost zero storage space, the smallest bathroom we’ve ever had in a suite. The hotel ambiance was more kindergarten than boutique. The public spaces were full of pre-schoolers, with a kids club room the size of a cupboard, quite literally! Kids spilled out into the reception and lounge area and there were many parents who seemed happy or maybe resigned to let their kids run & shout in corridors, scream in the dining room & shout across the pool all day long. The pool was very small and is in a baking, walled-terrace setting with nowhere for the noise to escape or air to circulate. The sunbeds are black nylon and scorching to the touch! The pool toilet & adjoining shower were not a nice experience or kept all that clean & usually had a wet floor that you have to paddle through to reach the sink exit. This is their nominated late checkout option for a shower before the airport, no thanks! The hotel grounds are small and in a hollow, where heat builds and the Atlantic breeze struggles to permeate. Front desk service and room turn down etc. all very good, thank you. Staff friendly, kind & approachable, the hotel’s best asset. Restaurant not so good. Food in restaurant served cold first night - countless meals waiting on the pass under warming lights. Policy to serve kids meals first - by a good 20 minutes, without being asked if that’s what we’d like?! Restaurant service generally slow & a bit disorganised. Breakfast better but cappuccinos yuk, poached eggs forgotten one day & rather typical of the entire experience was the fact that the coffee cups are trendy metal beakers, so they burn your hands if you have any more than a half filled cup! We had booked 5 nights (non-refundable) we managed to stay for 3 before moving on. Portugal is too beautiful and life’s too short to be stuck at PV boutique hotel. Would not recommend or return.…
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend! Not unsurprisingly the hotel was very busy in August (lot's of families) but the hotel coped very well. Parking was a bit of a struggle from time to time and priority parking for hotel residents would have helped as restaurant guests used a number of the parking bays. …

"Probably opt for the second floor (what we call first floor in UK) or third. The views are better and likely to be quieter."Read full review
