Our stay in the Sunset Suite was absolutely perfect! The attic-style suite was cozy and spotless, with the most romantic views of Melbourne—especially from the double spa in the living room! We also loved the private balcony, so relaxing. We can’t wait to come back! Awesome stay!!!

After much deliberation my wife & I decided to stay at Arnica Views, we chose the Barn & what a choice it was very comfortable & romantic which was exactly what we had wanted for this was our first weekend away for 25 years with out the kids. From the minute we walked in we were impressed it was clean & the hosts preheated the cabin supplied a bottle of wine & candles by the spa, the surrounds were just brilliant. We would & have recommended this a place to go to get away from the regular hussel & bussel of life in fact we have already re booked our next stay. Thank you again Arnica Views.

Lovely property. Very spacious with log fire makes it the perfect choice for a relaxing short couples stay. You won’t leave hungry either with generous breakfast provisions.

Poor Communicators
I booked a 3 day stay at Arnica View in Jan 2023. If you are coming to the area I would highly recommend that instead you look elsewhere—there is one in the same area on tourist rd— is beautiful but with much better communication than the staff at arnica views.
The reason for my poor review is because of the poor communication that occurred prior and after my scheduled stay. I was denied access into the country of Australia due to a problem with the Australia ETA. I was told that the problem will not be rectified within the next two weeks, therefore I was forced to cancel my stay.
I understand that Arnica Views has a strict cancellation policy. However, I emailed them within five minutes of my initial booking to ask questions about the cancellation policy—I did not receive a response. During my fiasco at the airport I gave them a call and left a voicemail—no response. In the next 10 days, I called multiple times and left multiple voicemails—no response. However I did get sent to voicemail by whoever was handling the phone.
During this period of time, on two separate occasions, I was able to talk to two separate individuals. They told me that they would be talking to their boss about my concerns and that they would reach out by email. This did not happen. It honestly felt like they were intentionally ignoring me.
My poor rating is not because they took my $840. It is not because they didn’t offer me credit for a future stay. My poor rating is because they didn’t provide me with common courtesy and at least talk to me. If I’m spending the money to book an expensive room, I would at minimum appreciate a response rather than being intentionally ignored.
If you are booking a stay in the area, and you are spending money….don’t choose arnica views. It doesn’t make sense to spend the money and risk not being able to get in contact with someone when there is a problem with your room, logistics etc.

If you need for a review visit the com ents on bookings .com. There are good positives and negatives
Best reviews are on bookings .com. We had a discount deal and at that price we were generally satisfied. We were upgraded from the sunset view to the barn. Our wants and needs in our opinion were downgraded . Appeared we were the only guests
There are comments about the log fire , it was actually a gas log fire. Happy enough with the fire. Did not use the spa as we have a spa at home and also a wood heater however imagine both would appeal to a romantic night or two away. Had an issue with breakfast. No bacon ,no yogurt and out of date ham but there was sufficient for our need .Visited Yarra valley and other recommendations in the information brochure. All good. Dinner at the Olinda Pub night 1and the Indian restaurant night 2
There is sufficient cooking facilities to cook yourself. TV was difficult operate but were washed the Vic open and the cricket. Take your own connections and pass words if you are a TV person..
Sad lack of communication from the managers

The surrounds are lovely. The place is just ok. Bedroom loft with only bathroom being downstairs. Very inconvenient at nighttime. Boast of fresh breakfast supplies, but, despite the many bakeries nearby, they provide a frozen (yuk) rather than fresh loaf of bread. A few maintenance issues too (eg broken window winder meant couldn’t open bedroom window). Nearly good, but just not quite.

The spa was great after a day out walking; the secluded and leafy surrounds were lovely. It was great to be able to walk to the SkyHigh restaurant and do a couple of walks in the area. Room was well presented, and there was plenty of breakfast provided (for cooking yourself).
Main issue was that the sign on the road was old and faded; it was easy to miss. Observatory Cottages next door had a very bright and clean and lively sign. For someone driving past, you would not get a good impression from this. Also the entrance road was narrow and dark, and required a hard turn to enter/exit.

Stayed in The Loft for 2 nights. Great price, friendly and helpful service via email and text. Breakfast materials provided . Romantic with candles (just no matches). Great spa but be aware Loft has steep stairs and low roof. Image has a couch but unit had 2 comfy chairs. Spa was relaxing

My fiancee and I arrived at 3.00 for a relaxing night to be greeted by the maid saying she did not have our name. She took us into one of the rooms to make us a coffee while she tried to contact Paul or Tania. We sat in a room for over an hour next to a bed that had been slept in the night before. At 5.15 Tania came in and said that we were booked for the next day and that it was going to cost us an extra $65 because it was a Sunday. She said they had made up The Loft for us without my consent. She did not give us an altermatum. We brought dinner to cook on the bbq but there was no bbq with the Loft so she took us down to another used room with a filthy bbq and said we could use that. As we were walking back she said that it will cost us an extra $95 because we had to pay for the maids and her wages because she had to come in on her day off. I said that we would come back the next day when we were originally booked in and she was extremely rude and said that was not an option and she was not going to argue with me. I refused to pay the extra $95 and paid $65. There were filthy ashtrays full of cigarettes outside our room where we sat for a drink. We were not treated fairly and it ruined our night. Sitting in a room for well over an hour where someone had slept, was totally inappropriate and unprofessional. I shouldn't have to pay her wages or the maids. She should do everything to accommodate her customers. If she answered her phone when we arrived at 3.00 none of this would have happened because we just would have organised to come back the next night instead of paying an extra $65. It was Tania's mannerism and bad attitude that was appalling.Have never been treated that way in any other place we have stayed. They should have given us an option. Disgusted and very dissapointed. It totally ruined our night and we just wanted to go home. I was very upset.

Response from ArnicaViews, Manager at Arnica Views
Responded 16 Feb 2012
The guest arrived a day earlier than they had booked. Staff and management went above and beyond to make our guests comfortable with tea/coffee, seated in one of the premium retreats, whilst preparing the accommodation as quickly as possible. There was a delay in establishing the guest error as the bookings manager had to be called to the property from a day off. The guests were fortunate enough to be using a half price discount voucher which required the payment of an upgrade fee for a weekend evening, so management felt it was reasonable to request this fee, clearly printed on the voucher. To ensure the guests had the opportunity to cook their bbq dinner, there was a genuine offer to utilise the kitchen and bbq area of one of our premium retreats, not yet serviced from weekend stay . Staff were paid overtime at Sunday rates to ensure these guests did not have to make the hour trip return home to Frankston only to come back the following day.

We arrived around 4pm and were told there was no electricity. We had a long drive from the city and accepted the room as long as we could have a spa. I asked Tania if the spa worked and she assured us it did and told us there was hot water. We turned the tap to fill the spa and even though it started with hot water it quickly turned cold. We filled the bath and it was freezing! No spa, no hot water, no heat, no lights on a 9 degree night ahead of us. Tania told us we could contact her that night if there were any issues but she didn't answer so we left messages on three separate occasions. At this point we had been there for around 2.5 hours when we decided to leave. Since Tania wasn't responding we left a message telling her we were leaving. The following day we called her to redeem our two nights for a later date and she told us that, this was her day off and she didn't agree that we hadn't used our stay there and she'll mull it over and abruptly hung up in the middle of my sentence. We were appalled and disgusted that this business would rip us off $200 and then be so rude to us when trying to negotiate a resolution. That was a very expensive 2.5 hours and a horrible ordeal. We are still waiting for a resolution as Tania is still supposedly mulling it over.
