Stayed two nights in disabled accessible room. Access was great and bathroom spacious. All very clean and warm. Finding suitable accessible accommodation for myself and carer is not always easy so was pleasantly surprised with the room. The verandah gave me plenty of space to walk around safely.

We had planned to stay overnight in the caravan section which was quite good but due to our caravan losing a wheel we had to stay in the Motel accommodation. It's very basic, clean and plenty of hot water. No secure vehicle parking, beds were terrible, so uncomfortable. We also had a meal from the Cafe which was a seafood platter, it was also mediocre.

What an iconic little place to stay No complaints at all (except the hotbox food in the cafe - awful) but the caravan park, the hotel and the staff were brilliant. Amenities of the caravan park were clean (and cleaned very early in the Morning ready for people to use upon wakening). The hotel was lovely. Very Australian! The meals were delicious and large. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Would highly recommend if you are on the road.

Such a disappointing stay. Both double beds in our room had been made with dirty bedsheets - very clear evidence of previous users. Thankfully we were able to reach a worker who came to change the sheets for us. Prickles on the floor also. As far as the Moonie Crossroads goes - very limited grocery options if you are looking for something healthy - no fruit, muesli bars or even cheese snack packs. Sweet biscuits, lollies and chips were only option.

Traveling from NSW to Queensland, decided to stay as Moonie was a halfway mark. Unfortunately we found the bathroom to be poorly cleaned, with remnants of previous occupants clearly left behind in the corner of the shower cubicle and bottom of toilet brush, under the bed hadn’t seen a vacuum in months etc. Reluctantly complained, to be offered another room, however we opted to stay in our current room as felt similar cleaning was carried out in that room also, and we had a tired toddler. We were beyond disappointed and at $140 p.n think they could definitely lift their game and take a complaint seriously to prevent further disappointment. Won’t be staying again.

I stopped in and purchased over $70 worth of food and drinks. The only positive was the drinks were cold. The food was dry and lukewarm and soggy chips. There was no menu board with prices. I purchased a dinner pack containing 3 pieces of chicken and chips with an extra 5 pieces of chicken. It wasn’t until I looked at the receipt that I discovered that each extra piece of chicken was $3.99. The dinner box was $9.99. If I had known this before ordering I would have purchased 3 dinner boxes as this would have resulted in more chicken and more chips for the same price. When I spoke to the manager he was rude and gave me incorrect contact details for the owner. I will never stop there again and I will be recommending others don’t also.

Response from Moonie Crossroads, Owner at Moonie Crossroads
Responded 26 July 2023
Hi Cassandra, I am sorry you were disappointed with the food and service in your recent stop. I am sure the error keying your order in our system was an honest mistake. Our staff wouldn't intentionally try to charge more for the same product. In fact, the dinner pack is supposed to have 1 wing, 1 drumstick and 1 large piece and chips. The large pieces on their own are $3.99. Again, I am sorry if you were overcharged. If you would like to contact us via email at mooniecrossroads@outlook.com I am happy to fix up the difference. The matter of our staff not giving out contact details for ownership or other staff members is what they are instructed to do. We welcome any correspondence via email to mooniecrossroads@outlook.com or phone 07 4665 0200. Thanks Moonie Crossroads

we knew that the roadhouse was in the middle of nowhere and were looking forward to staying there having booked weeks in advance. there was a minor mix up with a qantas booking but steve worked that out thanks steve. the staff on duty left a lot to be desired as they were not prompt with service nor did they seem to care whether we were there or not

A good place to stop for an hour between towns of Dalby and St.George. Usual food fuel toilets. Large eating area/ pub. Anazing display if wild boar heads!. And a great variety of clothes, Ts, other stuff to buy. I got a winter vest that i had been searching for at many towns for weeks! If weather us good, take theirs or your own food over the road to tables outside the information centre. And look at the Moonie/ Santos Qld's first oilfields display.

Don't ask for anything off their menu or you'll get charged exorbitant prices. We won't get caught again. Apparently if you request something that isn't listed on the menu they make an adjustment to what you request with their own interpretation of what that is and charge accordingly. Well over what you'll expect I can assure you.

Hi Mary,
We are so sorry we couldn't tend to your answer sooner. We have a new system that just launched and have only just launched on the internet. Yes you can park your caravan here, and our tariffs are $105 per night for the standard room and $125 per night for the superior room. I know this doesn't help you right now as it is past your travel date, but once again we apologise for not being able to tend to your request sooner.
Please note we are now active online and will be able to respond in a prompt manner. Our new website is also now operational.
Thank you.
There are more places to choose from in the Moonie area.
