This was a fun trip! Great fishing, food, stories, staff, and accommodations. We arrived in Yellowknife on a Friday night and stayed at the Explorer Hotel. A nice, comfortable hotel with good food and helpful staff. The next morning, a lodge representative picked us up at 7:30 AM to take us to the airport. We were flying to the lodge...

Several years ago for two years in a row I did a salmon fishing junket and really enjoyed it. We caught a few fish over the three and a half days. The fishing was great and like they say "catching fish is a bonus". But in chatting with a friend, he mentioned Frontier Fishing Lodge and everything about it. The...

Best fishing I've ever done in a perfect remote location! The cabins are clean and adequate however, the beds could use replacement. The staff and owners were great and we couldn't have asked for a better guide. You could really tell he has true passion for his job and loves the outdoors. The shore lunches they prepared were something we...

I went to Frontier Fishing Lodge almost 30 years ago for the first time. After some life changing events I decided to return in 2013. I took , treated my son-in-law, and it was more than I had remembered. I went back again in 2014 and am booked for 2015. The fishing lodge is as it should be, overall basic...

I went to this lodge with my Dad, brother, and grandpa, and my experience was incredible. We caught over 240 fish in 2 and a half a day and they were all huge! If you walked for a couple minutes down the bank by the lodge, there was some incredible fly fishing, I had grayling swimming around my feet and...

My son and I have gone to Frontier Fishing Lodge four times. Every year it just got better and better. Our primary target fish was the Lake Trout and lots of them, over 350 caught and released on one trip. The guide will make or brake a trip and our guide was good. The cabins were old but they were...

My wife and I spend four of the best of our lifes at Frontier. The whole experience was all you could asked for, food, fishing, great north country, staff and guides. The cost seems high but once you see what is all involved, you understand why. It is not 10 star but if you like and want to fish this...

My wife gave me a four day trip to wayne and Debbie's frontier fishing lodge as a birthday present. We found the entire experience wonderful. The arrangements for flying from Yellowknife were clear. The information on the web site was accurate and helpful and the stay was great. We caught and released over 200 lake trout, northern pike and arctic...

While I did experience some very good fishing on my trip, my experience with Frontier Fishing Lodge was far from what I expected. This was due to a combination of a guide that put in a very subpar effort, combined with being mislead by their website. In particular the pike fishing, they advertise the area as being "home to an...

I gave this resort 5 stars because I went there to fish, and in that I was extremely satisfied. The accommodation and food are not fancy, but I didn't go there to lounge in the bar - I went to fish. The cabins are a bit rustic, and appointed with fairly tired furniture and finishing. The beds in our 4...
