Ballyfin - Tranquil ; Welcoming ; Luxurious. Visit an oasis of comfort, friendliness and beauty in County Laois. Beautifully and meticulously restored the interior of the house is almost beyond description. Sit in the Gold Room and listen to the magnificent chandelier "jingle'. It is almost like listening to birdsong. The staff - friendly and professional. Food - perfect -...

This place is exactly as you would expect. Opulent and expensive but well worth the cost if you can afford it. Good was amazing, staff lovely, grounds superb. The restored house is a gem in the Midlands.

This is one of the most amazing hotels that you can visit. The money spent restoring it to the original detail will never be recouped. The service is amazing with more staff than guests and the rooms are large, luxurious and authentic. The grounds are also restored to their original quality and are beautiful to walk or run around. The...

It is hard to do justice to the Ballyfin experience in a review. From the moment you pull up to the gate, to when you see the staff waiting as you pull up to the house, to when you tour the beautifully restored home, Ballyfin is just that - an experience. It is not just a "hotel" or a place...

The facilities are beautiful, comfortable and so interesting. Howver, the thing that really made this hotel one of our very favorites was the staff. The people that welcome and take care of you at Ballyfin treat you like a cherished houseguest at a weekend house party. They pampered me, adored my kids and made us want to come back again...

What can I say, this is our second visit and we were equally impressed, it is just perfection. It is difficult to fault. The environment, the service and the food does not get better anywhere. It is very pricey but still amazing value.

We got the train from Dublin to Portlaoise on Saturday afternoon. A short taxi ride (€18) brought us to the stunning property and we were greeted by 3 staff and the manager. The were then checked into our gorgeous room (Dr Beaufort) and were just amazed at the personalised nature of the staff. We went for lunch had were incredibly...

From the moment you enter the gates and catch sight of Ballyfin House, it's like you've stepped back in time. The staff line up to meet you on the steps, you're whisked away into a beautiful stately home, waited on hand and foot, but not obtrusively, and all your cares melt away. The food is superb, as is the wine...
