Wonderful stay - Quaint ancestral home of the Campbell Clan and Black Duncan Campbell. Full disclosure: my wife is a Campbell. Room from top floor lovely (no "lift"- elevator in the US). Liz and Ronnie make this place EXTRA special. Castle only has 6 double rooms, so full occupancy is 12 guests. Quaint restored Great Hall for breakfast which was... More

We stayed here on the last night of a trip showing two American friends around some of Scotland. We wanted to finish with something special and Barlcaldine Castle delivered in spades. Lovely authentic building offering fantastic bedrooms with excellent facilities and gorgeous views. Our two rooms had views over Loch Creran and the mountains beyond, one with a 17th century... We stayed 1 night in the Lochnell room. We did not want to leave it! Stunning! We arrived in late afternoon and were glad we had brought some food with us so we didn't have to go out and miss any time at Barcaldine. The whole castle is furnished in gorgeous antiques and is very well done. Spotlessly clean. Bathrooms... More

We loved it here. It was a castle with ghosts (maybe), a dungeon (really), great rooms and great breakfasts. Only downside was no possibility for dinner there, which would have been nice during a rainstorm. But good restaurants not far. Ronnie was warm and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

This castle was all what I expected and more. The staff very welcoming, the décor perfect for the castle setting, sumptuous and very clean. Our room was perfect, 4 poster bed, roll top bath and his and hers sinks. The views were spectacular. Our breakfast delicious. Really felt like a princess!

Absolutely amazing! We arrived late and were warmly welcomed by Ronnie. We were so lucky to have booked the Breadalbane Room. During our stay we were able to view other rooms and although they were nice and we would have been happy to have stayed in either of them after seeing our room there was no comparison. Breadalbane is very... More

This castle is amazing! Beautiful, clean, great breakfast and a rich history. It has walls that are 6 feet thick and they have managed to put extremely beautiful full bathrooms in every room. I want to go back and stay longer.

This 17th century castle was the best night we had on our trip to Scotland. It has been updated but not to modernized. The entry has a beautiful spiral stair case leading to the dining room and rooms. We were welcomed by Liz who took us up to the den, which is where she proceeded to ask us about our... More

Our stay at the castle totally made our trip. It is a beautiful and well decorated 17th century castle, with amazing views. The location is fantastic, very close to Glencoe, Oban, loads of other castles, etc. The service was outstanding, we felt so completely welcomed and had everything we needed. They even made dinner reservations for us, and carried our... More

Scotland is a perfect location to experience a night in a castle. Barcaldine castle was great. We had the Breadalbane room. Great furnishings, a very comfortable and somewhat historic bed, and all the amenities.
