Stayed here overnight on way to Austria. Booked it on the go. Hadn't realised it was right next door to the nurburgring. Which was a bonus. Rooms excellent, staff very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast very good, . Dinner in the adjacent restaurant .acceptable

Loved this hotel. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the rooms spacious and clean, and everything has a motorsports theme and vibe. Dining at the restaurant was something I've wanted to do for years. Had a blast looking at all the Nurburgring memorabilia. Highly recommend as the place to stay for your trip to the Ring.

Great Hotel, very helpful even with car issues. Lots motor memorabilia and famous faces from motor sport. All you can eat breakfasts certainly set you up for the day.
The rooms are very clean some look over the track. Excellent refreshing showers, bigger people would struggle to use the bath they tapper at one end.
Good safe car parking.

I have stayed at this charming hotel 5 or 6 times over the last four years and not sure why I've never written a review, I'm an avid Tripadvisor fan and always have a peek before I book any hotel. My most recent stay was from 7 June to 9th, we would have stayed longer but the hotel was fully booked and we transferred to the nearby Lindner hotel which overlooks the GP track ( review of that establishment will follow).
The Tiergarten is a little slice of motoring heaven, close enough to the public entrance to the track but not too noisy, and very comfortable. This hotel is not at all frilly and serves it purpose very well. My husband has to get his fix of the Green Hell at least twice a year and somehow I manage to get myself dragged along at least once a year. Most of the guests when we are there appear to be racing Pistonheads, the feel of the place is geared toward motoring fans. The rooms are good and we have stayed in the main building and also the one opposite the reception. The facilities are all there, TV in the room and bathroom with hair dryer. One downside for us is that there are no tea or coffe making items, however we always now come prepared and travel with our trusty travel kettle etc. We were able to access free WIFi in our room and the attached restaurant the Pistenklaus.
In my opinion this is their jewel in the crown, the food is amazing and they serve the best steak I've ever eaten, even if we cannot book into the hotel as most of our trips are fairly last minute we always go to the Pistenklaus for our dinner in the evening. It's a Mecca for race fans who have spent the day wizzing around the track. The talk is all about corners and near misses and the atmosphere is fantastic, lots of racing items hanging from the walls and ceiling.
Breakfast is good but fairly basic, tasty coffee and fresh fruit etc.
At the end of the day take a walk around the car park and spot the super cars parked alongside each other, it really is amazing how much metal work is on show and we are always amazed at the variety of cars.
The beds are comfy and considering how close this hotel is to the track ( in some of the rooms you can see the track) its very quiet and peaceful. If the track closes for a while on public days you can drive back up the road to the hotel car park and have a coffee in the bar area and just wait to hear when it reopenes, you will hear the sound of racing cars from the hotel and notice that the hotel empties
In reception they have a list of opening dates and times for the track for both public days and closed club days and are always very helpful if you need any information. This is very much a family run business and now almost feels like a home from home for us when visiting the track.
On days when the track is closed the surrounding area is beautiful to wander and explore, the castle is just up from the hotel and has fabulous views from the top, also if you have the time go for a walk in the surrounding woods, they really are breath taking and beautiful.
My only downside is the bathroom towels and would suggest they invest in some slightly less scratch ones, although perhaps this is not at the top of the list of important things for motoring fans, my hubbie says they are perfectly adequate.
All in all good value for money, lovely atmosphere and we would rather stay here than anywhere else in the area. We have used other hotels ie Dorrint, Lindner and one other which I can't remember the name of but this is our favourite.
If you have any questions just ask and I will do my best to answer them.

We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst my husband took a drive round the Nurburgring. Its a good location, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and they provided a good breakfast. The set lunch was also reasonable.

Stayed here when traveling with a group. Room was clean and tidy with a comfortable bed. Good WIFI included, as well as a buffet breakfast with continental selection and cooked items. Perfect for the Nurburgring which is minutes away. Had a fantastic meal at the pistenklause restaurant next to the hotel. Would highly recommend the steak cooked on volcanic stone. But most importantly my husband and I would like to thank the hotel for returning his prescription sunglasses to us in the UK without charge this kind of personal service is normally unheard off. Cant wait to stay at this hotel again! Thank you

We caused a lot of trouble for the hotel: first I called that my son is on crutches after a skiing accident and asked for an accessible room; and then we got stuck in traffic and were arriving really late. And on top of that I do not speak a word of German. Anyway the hotel staff were ever so helpful. They went an extra mile to accommodate all our needs. Great service! The room was spacious and clean with excellent soundproof windows so we hardly heard the Kirche bells. Good breakfast. Free wifi. Great place to stay!

This hotel in the heart of the village of Nürburg is run by the family of Sabine Schmidt, the famous racing driver who has set records on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring. It is a short drive from the main car park and entrance to the track, and is frequented by many locals and visitors alike.
The rooms were relatively Spartan, but were clean and comfortable enough during my extended stay there. Wifi was free and reliable. I didn’t see any international channels on the TV, but I guess you don’t go to Nürburg to watch TV. There is free parking at the side of the hotel or in a small open car park across the street.
As other reviewers have noted, the Pistenklause restaurant on the ground floor, which opens in the evenings, serves a great Argentinean steak on a hot stone, which you can cook yourself to your preferred doneness, and for which the restaurant is known. The walls are decorated with motorsport memorabilia, and fellow patrons are friendly and always keen to talk about cars.
Right smack in the village, the hotel is inexpensive and a good place to stay in order to soak up the atmosphere of the village.

Good service, cosy, modern and clean rooms.
Nice restaurant with race atmosphere and good food (Pistenclause) in the basement, OK breakfast in the 1. floor restaurant.
Car parking can be a problem, due to little space.

We visit Nurburgring every year and this is the first choice of hotels every time. The associated Pistenklaus restaurant serves its most fantastic steak on the stone which is worth the visit alone. Rooms are well laid out, clean and comfortable. They have several other buildings that they can 'post' you out to within a short walk away. Most exotic metal you're likely to see in and around this hotel too.
Good spread for breakfast and would certainly recommend to any travellers whether passing through or purposely visiting the track.
