What is there to say other than both myself and my partner will most definitely be visiting again. Full of charm and character this gorgeous properties beauty is matched only by the owners themselves. David is a great host and a truly lovely man to meet and speak to. We found ourselves very welcome in his home and would stay... More

David the owner, was very welcoming, friendly and was a great host with nothing being too much trouble. He provided us with tea and coffee delivered to the rooms in the morning and provided a late night coffee along with ice for whisky (we had brought this along)! The breakfast was excellent with bacon, sausage, eggs - the full works,... More

The village appears in our walking book and a lucky search came up with Parson's House. David's hospitality was simply wonderful, along with plentiful trays of tea and shortbread, delicious breakfast delights and a very stylish and comfortable room with en suite shower room (we loved the quirky shower with plentiful hot water). We will definitely return.

We stayed just one night as were passing through on our way from the North West back to East Anglia, but I wish we had been able to stay longer. We received a wonderfully warm welcome from David, who looked after us beautifully, brought us tea in the morning and cooked the best breakfast we have ever had in a... More

I belatedly joined my friends on a walking weekend. The accommodation they had booked was full (bank house). However they were very helpful and gave me the number of David at Parsons House. On arrival I was offered tea which sadly I had to refuse as we were walking immediately. When I got back from the walk more tea was offered... More

We stayed 3 nights in this wonderful B&B managed by David and Alyson. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is so much better than your usual B&B, and for a fraction of the prices some B&Bs charge! Our room was massive and with lots of interesting features. The whole house itself is very quirky and we really enjoyed that. The... More

We have just returned from a lovely weekend in Hartington made extra special by our stay at Parsons House. Everything went smoothly with our booking and Dave was very helpful in providing details for an evening meal at the local pub. We arrived fairly late on the Friday evening but this didn't seem to be any problem for our hosts... More

Fantastic value, great location. Host is very accommodating with info about area. Catered for vegetarian with great breakfast menu. We had a very memorable 2 days in the country. Walks start from across the road. Food at the Devonshire arms is some of the best you will experience. Many thanks Andy and Caron

We visited Hartington for the evening to attend a wedding in the village, we decided to stay over night instead of booking a taxi as Parsons house was such great value for money. We arrived and we received a warm welcome by Dave who asked if we would like a drink. When we arrived back later from the wedding Dave... More
