The only difference with the Tokino is the size of the room. They' huge.
When I walked in my room, I thought they put me in a bunk house. There were 4 beds on the floor and 2 mounted to the walls. I understand it's a popular hotel for famlies on the weekend.

Likes:
Good location for business.
Some shopping and restaurants nearby.
Great view of Mt Fuji.

Dislikes:
You're required to be shoeless in the breakfast area. I don't mind doing this at home, but not with a bunch of strangers whose feet have been, who knows where.
Room had a funky odor.

We stayed at the room decorated with Peter Rabbit staff. The whole area where the room located at is all about Peter Rabbit and kids can enjoy treasure hunt game.
The illumination and local beer were fantastic!!

The Tokinosumika Hotel is my standard place to stay during businesstrips to the nearby Toyota Proving Ground. The hotel offers a good value for money balance. The rooms in the "Brush Up" Hotel are standard japanese business-size hotel rooms, so quiet small compared to European standard. Therefore taking the "western twin size" room in the tokino sumika hotel is recommendable. Rooms are clean and have nice view of Mt Fuji san if you have a room on the front side of the hotel. There is an 'Onsen' present in the hotel aswell.
Breakfast is Japanse standard style, and is OK.
The hotel is located in Tokino sumika holiday resort area, and there are several restaurants which can reach by foot with 5 min.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 days. It was one of the best work trips we experienced. They have an incredibly good breakfast, with a good selection of fruit, which is a big plus. The location is incredible to see, with great scenery around and you can get a view of the entire Fuji mountain in good weather. Lots of nice restaurants and cultural places that can be visited within walking distance. The best onsen place with lots of facilities.

Unique staff who are pleasant and helpful.

Highly recommend this place. Strongly consider bringing the family here when possible.

I've visited Gotenba Kogen hotel as my Japanese family booked to enjoy the special time with them. The hotel is very close to Gotenba premier outlet. So the location is good and I had a beautiful view of My. Fuji from the room. However when we went to dinner at Italian restaurant, there was kitchen renovation so they said some of the dishes can't cook. The renovation was not informed to my family. Normally my family who are repeater of the hotel said there are nice buffet of salad, starter and dessert, but it was nothing at all. The starter was pasta which was huge amount and too much. The meat dish which the called beef was very hard and not tasty. Kids menu was too much food and very salty. I asked to bring cheese for pasta but it took long time to bring. Not only the food is bad, there is no wifi, the business centre was located between the hallway so it was very cold. There were only 3PC and one of them got virus on PC.

My family paid for it but even if they pay again, I won't go again.

This is my third stay.

I chose a Japanese-style room on the first floor the last time, but I was not satisfied with the view and noise, so I chose a Japanese-Western room.

The hotel's website also mentioned the view, so it seems that the Japanese-Western room is on the 4.5th floor.

This time, I was on the 4th floor, and I could see Mt. Fuji clearly.

There are no non-smoking rooms in the Japanese-Western room, but if you request a non-smoking room when you make a reservation, they will deodorize it. Maybe because we happened to have a string of non-smokers, there was no smell at all.

In addition to the two beds, there were two loft-like beds, which the children were delighted with.

It seems that up to five futons can be laid in the Japanese-style room. However, one futon was too thin, so in the end we laid two futons on top of each other and one of us slept there.

The building is old and you can feel the age here and there, but it has been renovated and cleaned properly. You can sometimes hear voices from the next room.

The hotel is also long, so if you are at the end away from the elevator hall, you will have to walk quite a bit.

It is attached to the hot spring facility Kirakubo, so you can enjoy the hot springs at your leisure. There are lockers for guests.

There are a variety of sizes of pajamas (top and bottom separate), including children's sizes. Yukata and hanten are also available.

There is a kettle, green tea, and two bottles of water in the refrigerator (they didn't have any, so I asked the front desk and they delivered them).

I didn't book dinner, but I had dinner at the observation restaurant in the hot spring facility.

Breakfast was served at the breakfast venue, and the menu was pretty decent. I have no complaints.
Check-out is at 11am, so I could take a leisurely walk before returning to my room and then check out.

It was a relaxing time.

If I stay again, I'd like to choose a Japanese-Western room.
