We stayed here for one night on our way from Blenheim to Christchurch, having to abandon our plans to go via Kaikoura because of the earthquake damage to the road. This was a delightful alternative, just off the main highway but far enough above to be reasonably quiet. Nice deck outside the 3 units with great views across to Mount...

We stay in all levels of lodging and this was one of best in terms of comfort, service, value and even charm. Also great views. Very, very nice and helpful owner. Very convenient for hikers and those traveling the long road from north to south or vice versa since the earthquake.

Stayed two nights en route to and back from our final destination. Clean, well equipped room (we had room 3 which had separate bedroom for my husband and I and a single bed in the living for our son). And I mean well equipped - we self catered and everything was in good working order. Comfortable beds, excellent shower pressure....

We were only able to stay for one night, so wish it could have been longer, fantastic scenery and very well equipped chalet. Whilst we were there the weather was not very good, on a fine day the scenery would be stunning. We met Liz and she was very kind and helpful, if you are in the area looking for...

Fabulous views from our deck, across the valley. Very peaceful rural location. The accommodation is slightly dated but very clean, and the beds were easily the most comfortable we slept in, in our 8 days touring South Island, including many more "upmarket" motels & hotels. Our hostess was exceptionally helpful, making suggestions and reservations for us, and lending us towels...

Well off the road up a long rural driveway with a lovely setting looking back across to bush covered hills. Very comfortable bed, quiet, friendly owner, very reasonably priced. New and well equipped. Worth heading 10 minutes up the road for a soak at Maruia Hot Springs.

Friendly place with good facilities and quiet. Liz the owner is helpful and kind. Would def recommend as a stop over if travelling via Lewis pass. Reasonably priced, but only 3 units so book early. There is a cafe/fuel stop 3 k's away and the springs are 10 mins drive away.

Very friendly owner , we arrived quite late and were made to feel so welcome . This time was just a stopover, but we will certainly be back for a longer stay . It was very quiet and extremely clean . There are plenty of walks to do in this area , and the view from the decking was lovely.

Phoned Lewis Pass motels from Christchurch on Friday afternoon and asked owner if there was any vacancy that night as we were driving up to Nelson for a short break away. Sure enough, one unit left. The friendly lady said she would be around once we arrived around 10pm. Arrived as planned around 10pm. Lovely owner and her dog Bill...
