Newman Visitor Centre Chalets

Newman Drive, Newman, Western Australia 6753 Australia
#Newmanvisitorcentrehalets. Hiding behind the information center are a small group of self contained chalets nestled amongst some 'small' mining retirees. Very unexpected gem. In an overpriced town overflowing with hi-vis these chalets are spacious new and comfortable. Highly recommended

Located in a secure area as part of the visitor centre is a little hub of chalets available for short term stays in Newman. We stayed two nights and were really happy with the comfort , decor and facilities provided. Plenty of food and entertainment options within walking distance and great to have a fab Muzzbuzz close by for morning coffees.

This place is just great! Very accommodating staff - helpful and knowledgeable. Chalet was super clean, and very well appointed - beaut little safe spot close to town. Car remains in visitor carpark but it was well lit and we had no issues. Definitely recommend.

Beautifully presented, thoroughly cleaned, well equipped chalets, with comfortable beds and pillows. Personnel were friendly and helpful. Convenient location for shops, fuel and viewpoint. Inevitably dusty location, but this did not deter us from rating the accommodation highly.

Wouldn't even know that this place exited if I hadn't found it by accident. Great hidden gem at a reasonable price in a world of over priced accommodation and hi-vis. Very convenient location, muzz buzz, pub and petrol over the road. Only thing is car park is public. But the retired mining equipment in between the chalets is fabulous. Highly recommended.

You can’t beat this accomodation! Separate chalets with all the amenities...I love the rain shower. Microwave and continental breakfast supplied. The beds are super comfy with excellent linen. Barb and the girls looks after you with a smile and a laugh. Just across the road from the pub! 🍺🕺🏼

We stayed on the way to Karijini. The chalet was very clean and reasonably priced accommodation. In was very peaceful - no noise at all. Ladies at the desk were very nice and helpful. We all loved it - definitely the best accommodation choice in Newman.

One night stop on our way to Karijini! Lovely modern cabin with the essentials! Very clean, helpful staff, safe & secure!
A little disappointed that we paid for 3 but only got breakfast for 2. I'm sure we can sort this out in the morning. Wifi too!

Clean and comfortable, most recommended for Newman. Most of the accommodation in Newman is not of this calibre. Newman Hotel comes closest. Only downside is the centre closes at 5 pm and if you arrive later, then staying here is not an option, and is not accessible over the weekend unless you book and make arrangements mid-week.

great location - central to the Radio Hill lookout (fabulous sunrise or sunset walk!), with a coffee shop in the carpark, across the road from a 24hr fuel station (that does great coffee, food & has ATM) & diagonal from the Purple Pub (sports bar) & Newman hotel (bistro with decent meals). I travelled for work so check in was after hours - thankfully there is a lock box where your keys are conveniently stored.
The rooms are in a secure fenced off area behind the visitor centre with plenty of parking.
The rooms are sufficiently sized modern studio type - comfy QS bed with great pillows & bedding (high quality flannelette sheets in winter!). There are bedside tables with lamps & a blanket box in the corner with additional blankets/pillows. Futon bed/lounge. I really didn't like the stool/bar-like table/chairs - not comfortable or conducive to finishing work at the end of the day. Wall mounted tv with local channels.
The recessed kitchenette was very basic - fridge, microwave & some plates/bowls plus tea/coffee making facilities. I really really hate the fact you have to wash your plates in the bathroom - very unhygienic.
The bathroom was AMAZING! large slower with rainshower head. Great temperature & pressure of water (very impressed). Modern toilet & lots of towel racks. Only downside was the tiny bath towels. But you do get 2 bath towels, a bath mat, face washer & hand towel. Great located power points & plenty of counter space. Disappointed that NZ (& not Aussie) toiletries provided - bar soap, bath wash, shampoo/conditioner & body lotion.
