Detailed Reviews
We broke our journey south by motor home here for the night, and had one of the powered sites behind. The toilets / showers were ensuite type, which was good, although it was so cold at night that we chose to have showers in our warm camper that evening! We went to the roadhouse for dinner, and they had a decent selection of meals, and a small bar, wine was $6 for a huge glass! We sat outside with some other campers by the water feature, it was a very pleasant evening. The staff we met, a Kiwi woman and a Chilean boy, were ever so friendly and welcoming. We did not need to buy fuel. Lots of trucks stop here at night, and there is brightly lit dining room where they tend to gather.

Kumarina is in a great location and does good meals however the family room we stayed in was extremely dated and not suitable for children under 12 due to having outdoor toilet amenities and door locks not user friendly. The single dongas at the rear of the complex look fairly new but didn’t look inside. Staff always friendly.
Advantages are mobile telephone service and air con. We could hear road noise and whenever my children moved or spoke in the adjacent room we could hear it.
Could work on improving facilities to cater for families by upgrading or renewing the set of dongs we stayed in.

To help break our journey north we stopped for a night.
Donga style room with an ensuite, queen size comfy bed, spotlessly clean, good shower, coffee / tea making facilities with bottled water.
The roadhouse has a small bar, a restaurant with good reasonably priced food and very friendly staff.
A great place for a stopover.

We arrived at Kumarina after travelling 12 hours from Perth. We had booked a family room, which is to separate rooms and the toilet blocks across a walkway. The cost was $140!!. Neither tv in the rooms worked properly and there was nowhere to sit. Plus you had to leave your room to go across to toilets and showers. We did order dinner to eat in dinning room which was brought out very quickly and of good quality.

The first restaurant I've been to where I've heard the term "No Snot" when the waitress asked a truckie how he'd like his eggs cooked. I guess he mean't he wanted the white cooked. I've had fun with this ever since.

Stayed here after a long 12-hour drive from Broome. Food was good but the accommodation was woeful. The donga we stayed in was old and dirty and the TV did not work.
You had to walk to blocked and filthy showers and only a trickle of cold water was the best we could get.
The toilets were the same. No facilities outside room, like tables and chairs to sit.
Food and dining facilities were fine.

Its good enough for a night stay. Decent room for a night. Toilets need bit tiding. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Coffee is good. My son loved the chicken cheese sausage roll. I like the breakfast. Convenient place to stay on a trip between Perth and Port Hedland.

Passing though as a solo traveller, did not intend to stay but heavy rain had caused the roads to flood. construction workers had taken almost all the van sites but I was able to stay anyway. Staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. I was self contained so used my own facilities except for a meal at the restaurant/tavern. Which was delicious.

Four stars for clean, quiet, safe accommodation, an extra star for friendly happy service :) We stayed in room F1, one of a couple of double rooms with attached bathrooms. It is a donga - people travelling in this region of WA should know and expect that. But it was clean, quiet, had a nice restaurant attached with a pleasant seating area and accommodation was off the highway so it was quiet all night. And the people running out were lovely from the moment we booked in to the moment we left. I may never be back here - but if I am I would certainly detour and stay again!
