We’ve just celebrated Father’s Day with an amazing experience at the Newman Hotel. From the moment we stepped into the Garden Restaurant earlier today, wondering if we would dine there, we were met by the supervisor who was friendly and assuring without being at all pushy. The supervisor’s approach has filtered through to all of the staff and the chefs backed up the ‘front of house’ experience with exceptional food. What a great night out! We could have been anywhere in the world!
$245 a night Dont care how old the room is, just want a clean room. Arrived in the family room after a long drive, walked in, the shower hadn't been cleaned, hair and shampoo up the wall. Microwave had splattered food on the inside. The toilet seat broken with sharp edges exposed, the soap holder broken with sharp edges. Window edges filthy. We asked them to clean the shower and microwave again, before we used it. We have run hotels before, and if you have to send the cleaner to come back, ( which was rare) then you offer your guest something, like a bottle of wine or champagne to keep them happy. For the sake of a $10 bottle wholesale price, why wouldn't you? to hopefully stop bad reviews.. The receptionist was nice, but the guy next her playing on his phone was very unprofessional. On a positive note, the bar staff where great!! Friendly and good fun, when we were there it felt like we were in a completely different place. Anyway never again for a over night stay..…
Exceeded our expectations simply because of the price. Room looked like it had been recently renovated but the bed was quite firm. Need to be aware of reversing beepers from FIFO workers onsite if you arent use to it. Service was okay. Plenty of parking. Would stay again.
As the tittle says this review is about what’s being sold versus what you get. We were after a comfortable one night stay in Newman as we were going to be driving from Broome that day. It’s about a 12 hr drive. Upon researching places to stay the Newman hotel popped up and looked good with some great photos of the rooms, and even on this app had some good reviews. So hotel booked and fast forward to checkin. Upon getting the keys we were pointed in the direction of a block which had some really old rooms in it. After going in the room was pretty old, damaged and just looked bad, lots of staining on floors and the bathroom. I took the key back and said that there was some mistake. We were given keys to 2 more rooms, 1 being a room with a lounge that although bigger had the same bad attributes as the first 2. There are a selection of photos to follow here to show you what I mean. The first 4 photos are of the actual room we stayed in. The last 1 is the screenshot of what is sold on their website. If you are going to advertise nice crisp and modern rooms then you better provide them or reviews like this will keep on coming. I also understand the whole place has a mining accomodation/food service that is absolutely pumping. On a positive note we ate at the restaurant and had an awesome feed and the service was brilliant.…
We arrived in Newman to find there are no public caravan parks...BHP owns them all . The Tourist Information Suggested we stay at the local oval and gave us a key that would get us Into the public toilet and showers .... yeah but no ! Dusty site, and the power provided was the wrong wattage for our campervan. Thank goodness there was a room at the hotel . $180 for a basic set up tho in the morning there was no water for about an hour. Give Newman a miss
