My wife booked a short break from Tuesday to Friday during half-term at Villa La Grotta via Secret Escapes. Having read the reviews prior to our trip we were somewhat anxious. However upon arrival in the early evening - quite hard to find and we had sat nav - we were met by Gianlucca who booked us into a local... More

A warm welcome by the host Gianlucca and a friendly team to help. Breakfast typical country style bread not always fresh but nice pastries, ham & cheese. The spa was interesting but a bit pricey even with 50% off so we abstained, rooms were large, we had booked junior suite but given a suite albeit not deluxe but roomy. The... More

Kathleen and I spent 5 nights at the Villa.Made welcome from the moment of arrival to departure. The team at the Villa are focused on ensuring you have all you need. The rooms can be made black out even in the early afternoon for siesta. Local wine tours are a perfect treat. We had a sports massage in the lovely... More

Run by a true Italian Del Boy. Gianluca appeared very friendly and approachable however after reading previous reviews we were wary. Due to flight delays we did not arrive until near midnight. Gianluca prepared some meat, bread, cheese and salad with a bottle of wine. ON CHECK OUT THIS CAME TO €100. Tired and wanting bed he went through the... More

Dear mr. There are two categories of people, the Majority who appreciate the kitchen for two people who had to be kept open booked dinner at 8 p.m. and arrive 4 hours late, and pay what they ordered from the price list, 100 euro in two; most people appreciate the repute it is an up grade cheap, very small, to... Only spent 3 days here but glad it was no longer. Previous review said it all, owner wants to be your friend but charges heavily for poor quality accommodation and food. Very much out of the way, there must be better places to stay in this area. Not to be recommended.

Basic accommodation & decor lacking in character. The breakfast is sparse and don't eat lunch/dinner here or you will need a 2nd mortgage , you will be charged excessively for poor food. There are few amenities nearby , you will need a car to travel to find a resteraunt to eat. In all I would not recommend a stay at... More

We (Gilles and Elyse, living in Belgium) had a nice stay at Villa La Grotta! We booked for 7 days so we had wine and cheese tastings, a massage (30 minutes), and the spa (30 minutes) included and it was lovely! We also went during the first week of august so the weather was very good and allowed us to... More

The first thing I want to let everyone know is that there are two Villa La Grottas listed in Google Maps when you search. The one that is near to Siena is closed and not the one listed here. Once we arrived we found Gianluca a very welcoming person and he took care of us even though we had a... More

Nice pictures on Internet, nice marketing but sad reality. On the first day of our arrival the reality was not as we had expected. The owner is very well spoken and it seems that's he you're best friend bit the only thing he want's is your money! A lot off hidden cost and sneaky practices.

Villa la Grotta is extremaly climatic place. Perfectly located, you will feel it toskanian climate. Very good breakfast with a choice of local prosciuto and cheeses. Bread from a local bakery is always fresh. The service is very symphatetic and fulfills every wish. My wife loves tea, which is not the national drink of Italians. Despie that, every morning at...
