Value
Un parcheggio pubblico gratuito è situato davanti all'hotel.

This was our thirteenth group visit to this hotel and we just love it. The staff are friendly and cannot do enough for you. All the communal and bed rooms are clean, clean, clean and the staff were attentive to mask wearing, cleaning hands and distancing so it felt very safe. Over the past few years, there has been a rolling programme for updating all the bedrooms. Our room had a comfortable bed, chairs, desk etc as well as a fabulous new powerful shower. Plentiful hot water and lovely fluffy towels. Breakfast and dinner in the dining room for half board was great for the variety of items and such tasty, flavoursome food. Lots of opportunity to try other dishes too. Good boot and ski storage room and free shuttle bus up the cable car station so ideal for the skiers and walkers alike. Loads and loads of advice available for things to do in the region so something for everyone. Cannot recommend this hotel and staff enough and we look forward to our 14th visit in 2023. Thank you Ivo and Luigi.

Excellent hotel, good food, staff and ambience. Fantastic value for money. Marks out of 10 would be a 10. I would certainly recommend this hotel. We stayed in February and particularly appreciated the complimentary minibus lift to the ski lift in Valtourneche. The hotel is spotlessly clean.

A great choice if you are in Valtournence on a ski break. Ivo and his staff made us feel at home, can’t fault it.

The rooms were clean and warm, made up every day.

Breakfast and dinner with a variety of options including local delicatessens.

Ski room and ski bus at the hotel + ski shop across the road

5* from us

Don’t expect grand chandeliers or gold plated cutlery. It is what it says on the tin. Cousy, cute rooms, decent and tasty food, however, the best part of this Hotel is the staff. Ivo, Simona, Luigi and everyone else were just amazing. Couldn’t do enough for everyone in our group. Definitely coming back. Also, super close to the ski lifts.

Every year, we (an international team of crazy Swedish skiers :-)) come to this hotel and the family Herin, Ivo / Luigi, sometimes several times a year, to experience the fantastic hotel services, skiing in Matterhorn Ski Paradise and partly the genuine Aosta and Valtournenche city with its food, culture and still by the tourist industry not ruined the environment. We always feel like a part of the Herin family (owner of the hotel) where nothing is impossible in terms of service and create family atmosphere. All the staff from the owners, brothers Ivo and Luigi, to the receptionist, waitresses, and even the cleaning ladies were warm friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble for the Herin. Food and wines are local, fresh, tasty and plentiful - there are always a few seconds. No one goes hungry, ever  here.

I really didn't want to write about this hotel since it will be even more difficult to book the rooms. We have already booked for next year! as every year.
The Herin and staff, thx again from all f us for making our stay perfect, again. CY next time, Marek and Co.

My wife and I decided to have a few days in the Cervinia/Zermatt ski area having visited twice before. However we didn't want to pay major resort prices so we cast an eye over Valtourenche which we knew linked in well and seemed more reasonably priced. We liked the look of Hotel Bijou. It seemed to be the kind of family run alpine hotel we liked and the Tripadvisor reviews were all very favourable. We were not disappointed. It was really lovely and we echo all the positive remarks that have been written about it. The brothers who run it are friendly, helpful and professional as are all their staff. The shuttle to the lift which is about a km away leaves when you want it to although having a hire car meant that we only used it once. The brother who drives you is also the chef and what a chef he is. Excellent food every evening. We worked out that we paid an extra £16 a night for the half board option. That's eight quid each for what was a tremendous nightly meal and hence the title above. The menu has a choice of three options per course chosen the previous evening full of wonderful local produce and very imaginative. No skimping on quantity either. They also boast an excellent local wine list at reasonable prices. It seems strange to say but ask for a room overlooking the large car park in front of the hotel. We returned each evening and enjoyed a drink on our balcony as we watched the sun dip slowly below the mountains across the valley.
We would most happily stay here again and bring friends with us!

Nice food, wine and staff. Distance is a bit far from the ski area but it's in a very quiet valley. Really like the staff and great service. Keep up the good work. If you need more feedback, perhaps give better advice to potential customers who may be first timers as to which period to come and what to do. Where to rent skis, and what are the best food and wine around.

I think the fact that this was our seventh visit to this hotel speaks for itself! We are always welcomed with open arms by Ivo and Luigi as well as the rest of the staff. It is the perfect base for our annual skiing holiday and offers everything we need ....great food, comfortable rooms, a friendly bar, even free access to the large swimming pool just behind the hotel ...a great way to relax after a day on the slopes. Ivo even checks the conditions on the slopes each morning advising you whether to buy your pass or not ....for a fair weather skier it certainly helps.

Wanted to ski in Cervinia, but somewhat put off by Cervinia prices. Staying in Valtournenche, 9km loser down the valley, but linked into the ski area by a gondola lift, this hotel provided the solution.

All staff from the owners, brothers Ivo and Luigi, to receptionist, waitresses, and even the cleaning ladies were warm friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble.

Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the shower room appeared to have been recently renovated. We had a balcony overlooking a square used as a car park, with views of the mountains. The location of the hotel is better than most in Valtournenche. Most are on, and face directly out to, the main road that winds through the village and continues to Cervinia. Bijou is just off that road and therefore quieter.

Food was copious; a little buffet antipasto bar, to begin, then Ivo would appear with some ‘amuse bouche’, such as asparagus wrapped in ham, or a mini baguette pizza slice. Pasta or soup, main meat course, and usually a choice of at least three desserts. Ivo and the waitresses would buzz around offering seconds, and were reluctant to take ‘no’ for an answer. Well stuffed after every meal. To be honest, the food was basic, this is not cordon bleu cookery, but it kept active skiers fuelled for the slopes. Breakfast was buffet style; cereals, fruit, jams, bread and croissants, cold meats and cheeses, and eggs, cooked to order how they were wanted, including option of plain, cheese and/or ham omelette.

Altogether a good value for money destination. The main memory will be of the exceptional friendliness of the welcome and service.

We came to ski but our whole holiday was enhanced by this charming cosy hotel. Everything was provided apart from ski hire. The rooms were simple and warm, there was a bar where our group could relax after skiing, a roomy light restaurant and ski/boot room. And the service provided by the staff was friendly and attentive and we were fed and watered more than adequately. The food was tasty and plentiful and we were offered seconds on all courses. We could even purchase ski passes in the hotel and they provided a shuttle bus service between the ski lift and the hotel.
There is a ski hire shop a hop skip and jump from the hotel.
Valtournenche provided excellent skiing and the area wasn't crowded and we could reach both Cervinia and Zermatt areas very quickly.
But the Hotel Bijou made it for us. Thanks.
