We want guests to feel at home. The Earth, Sea and Fire trilogy has always constrained the life of the Azoreans and particularly that of the islanders from Pico. Earth because it resulted from the effort of the settlers and their descendants who cleared it, making their daily bread to arise from the rock. The Sea, the wide Atlantic Ocean, full of mystery, is always present, and it both unites and separates us.Fire, father of the islands that arose from inside the Earth, is the heartbeat of the planet and a test to the people’s perseverance and determination. The accommodation was even more beautiful than on the photos. Nicely equipped, clean house, with a pool and a stunning view! The host was very helpful and kind.
The perfect place for a quiet holiday on the Azores - only a walk away from the natural pool by the sea.

We were very reluctant to share this great find with the wider audience, but we have relied so much on the reviewers out there in the past that we could not keep it to ourselves ... We spent just a couple of days at the end of our week-long holiday in the Azores at this location, but we wish we could spend all of it there since it was absolutely superb. The location is great, just a few minutes from Sao Roque and in the middle of the country side (but still less than ten minutes away from Madalena by car). The view is simply incredible and with sun exposure from dawn to sunset. The three brand new houses of the compound are very spacious and very well decorated. The furnishing is really modern yet functional and not at all clashing with the age of the building. The best part are the owners though, who have done a great job in turning an old building into something out of Architectural Digest! Additionally they are extremely courteous and knowledgeable about the surroundings, and from the moment you walk in they will do their best to make you feel at home and accommodate any request you might have. If we go back to the Azores, we will definitely stay for a week!

The place is very nicely done. Wonderful architecture outside, very original décor and design inside. Excellent facilities, nice comfy beds, lovely bathrooms, superb kitchen, nice furniture, wonderful view, lovely swimming pool. Everything seemed to be very nice.
The big, big negative point is its location. The place is directly located on the island's main road. From 7 to 9 in the morning it is heavily trafficated (on holidays I want to sleep and relax at this time!!), and so it is between 17 and 19 hrs.
There are countless dogs making noise, also in the late evening and often at 2, 3, 4, 5 in the morning. It was just impossible to sleep, and to find peace there. At 5 in the morning a cock is waking up the whole area, and so do the dogs. Prrr, it was my worse experience on Pico when we talk about peace. Very disappointing, and I was really upset as the place is expensive but does not let you rest and relax. Houses are to the left, to the right and at the back. Noise from there as well.
After 3 nights the owner woke me up at 10 in the morning, telling me that until 13.00 hrs I should move to another unit as they made a mistake with another booking. I told him kindly that I prefer to look for another place to stay, feeling quite upset and offended by their behaviour. The other day he promised me that I could stay in the blue house for 9 nights, but then he changed idea. It's an unprofessional, unrespectful way of treating guests and therefore I can not recommend this place. It is nice to look at, but the circumstances of noise around as well as the behaviour of the owners didn't enthusiasm me a lot. On top of that, the rate on booking.com was 105€ per night. The owner wanted to charge me 125€. I told him decently that on booking.com it is just 105€, and at the end I paid 315€ for 3 nights. Go for "Adegas do Pico", it's close by, more charming, more typical and much, much more quiet, and José Maia is a much, much more hospitable and respectful hotélier.

Four of us stayed in Casa Mar and really enjoyed our stay. The two-bedroom house is very comfortable. The suite has a beautiful view and a queen bed. Second bedroom has no view and twin beds, but each has its own bathroom. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. They even prepared a breakfast for our arrival upon request. The only thing I can think of as needs for improvement would be to have the bathrooms stocked with toiletries and the kitchen with coffee. The kitchen and bathrooms otherwise had everything we needed. We even made use of the washing machine. The wifi was spotty, but the owners immediately had a technician there to fix it. The view from the houses is unbelievable and the pool area is very well maintained. Overall, it is a peaceful, quiet, and relaxing place. We would definitely return to stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Pico!

We stayed 4 nights in the "red house". It's a beautiful house with a amazing view. The bedroom is a little bit small, and the bed very hard !! All what you need in a kitchen is there and more...!!
Everything is very complete!! The supermarket is close (by car). The owners are very friendly and try to help with everything !! But....we can't sleep 1 night because the road near the room make a lot off noise all night long.....unbelievable (perhaps only in the red room?!?!?!)!!!
Pico is amazing..we have seen a lot of Dolphins!!!!!!

We had a marvelous time at Casa do Ouvidor. From our beautiful spatious, clean and nicely designed house we had this fantastic view over the ocean. The staff is a very friendly and easy going and always happy to give advice on what to do and where to eat on the island. And the jacuzzi was a blessing after doing the hike to to the top of the Pico Vulcano. A great place to stay. Thanks Paul and Ejay.
