Our friends had booked for two rooms for two nights some nine months in advance. They had confirmation from Booking.com via email and had also telephoned to confirm the booking. When we arrived there was only one room reserved and the guesthouse was fully booked. However, the lady owner did manage to find us a room at another establishment in...

Very friendly people, nicely equipped rooms, though the outside cottages could do with some renovation, but very pretty none the less. stunning views, beautiful country gardens, good breakfasts. No DSTV in the room at all. An easy walk into the village, with lots to see and do, lots of shops and restaurants around a huge village green, a lovely relaxing...

Beautiful setting and amazing garden. Very friendly hosts Bruce and Kieta, made us feel very welcome. Lovely touches such as tea cosies on individual tea pots at breakfast and a great breakfast. Very friendly staff. Would love to go back.

We stayed here for two nights and it was lovely: the room, the view, the helpful friendly staff, great breakfasts and the restaurant next door, which served excellent food. Even our five-year-old son ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese twice because he liked it so much. No, we can definetely recommend this place. As we were coming directly from Johannesburg International Airport,...

What a glorious little place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were warm and inviting. There is underfloor heating, heated towel rails and electric blankets. the views are fantastic. It is located close ti all the shops, which are a real treat too. The breakfast was more than ample. I would definitely return to this beautiful Guest House.

Told us that she will not be able to serve us breakfast before 08:00 as stipulated on their quote. I responded that we...

I would like to respond to Mrs Ria D on her first Tripadvisor review. The University booked six people at our establishment, one lady and five men. They all had their own rooms. The university has been using our establishment for the past 15 years and I have never, ever received such a negative review from the guests from the...

This guest house has a friendly aspect in all areas. The rooms are excellent and comfy plus the staff are brilliant. Add to that its location and aspect receiving the sun in the early morning makes it divine to breakfast on the terrace. Also waking up and finding the car cleaned was an unexpected bonus.

Good accommodation with friendly hosts and staff, The breakfasts were great and plentiful with Clarens itself an interesting place to visit. Nearby on the grounds were ducks and geese which to watch and hear gave great entertainment.

Spent one night to end of a fantastic 4 day visit in the Clarens area. Must give compliments for the heating in the room and bathroom. However the day of our arrival we saw no management representation. Milk provided in room was sour. Safe was a domestic safe and not a hotel safe, locked and unusable. Queen size bed mattress...

IVAN D 1 MAY Tripadvisor I refer to TripAdvisor review by IVAN D, on the first of May 2016, who mentions that he stayed with us during the month of May 2016. The whole review is quite suspicious and I wonder if it is not opposition putting somebody up doing such a negative review. We have perused our records and...

Comfortable room, great view of Mount Horeb from room. Breakfast with a wide variety of choices outside on the patio with fabulous view of the mountains and golf estate was excellent. They succeed in keeping the old world charm alive at this guest house.
