As we arrived on South Uist the beautiful weather condition changed so that we have to look for a room instead of camping ground. And what we've found was MacDonalds Home, called Loch Side Cottage. It was a really great, warm welcome and home-like stay....

Stayed for a night whilst delivering material to a building site. Lovely couple Alastair and Morag couldn't be more welcoming. Morag made a lovely evening meal and a beautiful breakfast. I would recommend this b and b to anyone visiting the island.

The hosts Morag and Alastair looked after us so well! Tea and cakes on arrival and, for one of us, very tasty haddock and poached egg for breakfast... The little property really is loch-side and there's a handy pub up the road!

We booked this Guest House last minute on our way up the Outer Hebrides for one night..Many B & B's and Guest Houses are closing up for October but luckily we managed to book a room here. My husband had a particular interest in the former Alginates factory and Morag & Angus were very helpful in pinpointing the location & discussing the history. Bed and bathroom comfortable and clean, breakfast cooked to order.

I have just returned from a family break at Lochside Cottage.I cannot speak highly enough of Alisdair and Morag, they couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome and part of the family. After a day out we were greeted with tea and cakes which we devoured in the conservatory overlooking the loch.A really cosy room with a lovely atmosphere.Also...

Morag runs a wonderful house and B&B. Nice room with spacious (and shared) bathroom. Breakfast is tasty and more than plenty! Be prepared for light and friendly banter by Morag - who also has a big heart for dripping wet hikers like us - we were presented with a wonderfully hot and tasty soup upon returning. We stayed during storm...

We had an extremely pleasant 2 nights here in July. Morag made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were delicious, the room small but comfortable, the garden beautifully kept and the view was very restful.

We were made immediately welcome by Morag on arrival. Tea and oatcakes were offered within ten minutes of setting foot in the house. All rooms were sparkling clean. Alister was helpful offering sites of wildlife interest. Breakfast was served spot on time. I opted for smoked haddock which was excellent. My wife chose traditional cooked breakfast. Both breakfasts were sufficient...
